UK Network Planner

In this role You will:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external collaborators especially the UK Operations and UK Dealer Teams ensuring alignment on the UK Network Strategy.
  • Property & Network Development: Support the Team in delivery of their key objectives, including helping to model lease extensions and scenario planning.
  • Forecasting New Store Profitability: Own the forecasting of shop sales and fuel volumes, own the M&S Geolytix model and the relationship with their key systems partners and maintain an Analogue Database to assist in Site Acquisition or Site development forecasting.
  • Produce detailed DSP packs as part of the analysis of NTI/NTN opportunities to ensure they accurately represent the business rationale for approval at both UK and Global M&C investment committees.
  • Network Strategy: Support in the construction and delivery of the UK Network Strategy, identify opportunities for growth, update on a yearly basis working in partnership with central strategy teams.
  • bp Pulse: Attend the weekly site reviews, seek opportunities for our UK M&C business, highlight and call out risks with overlap on M&C CO locations and help drive the right decisions for the UK Network.
  • DO Operations: Key point of contact for filtering new DO opportunities and ensuring no overlap with CO. Where needed manage the escalation process between bp UK Ops Director and UK Dealer Sales Manager making key recommendations.
  • Competition: Visit new sites to maintain expert knowledge of the UK market, supporting the assessment of key opportunities.
  • M&S Relationship: Act as main point of contact in the M&S relationship on behalf of the UK Asset Team. Produce supporting documentation to ensure we get the best levels of support and positive decisions by M&S Property team. Target is to get 80% of sites approved by M&S by producing the appropriate DSP's and documentation to get support the M&S approvals process.
  • Performance Management: Lead the Post Project Review process for all new locations and significant site extensions at 3 months post opening. Track performance of NTI/NTN's relative to forecast, identify and share takeaways and ensure our financial modelling is validated ongoing.

What You will need to be successful:

  • Proficiency in English language.
  • Experience in large scale network location planning, and assessment
  • Detailed understanding and significant experience of the Convenience, Fuel and Food Markets in the UK as well as understanding our competitor landscape.
  • Exposure to senior leadership forums / environments and experience of developing complex documents to support significant capital investments and measuring returns.
  • Experience of successfully working across multi-departments in large and complex organisations.
  • Proven track record of supporting the delivery of Network Strategies that are endorsed at a senior level in relevant organisations.
  • Strong leadership and strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Data-driven approach with experience in digital tools and analytics.
  • Ability to drive decision making and understanding by using data to influence actions.
  • Strong commercial competence and understanding of financial approval processes.
  • High proficiency in reporting and performance tracking, specifically reporting against bp's investment returns via robust post project review meetings.
