JOB PURPOSE

Develop and establish the condition monitoring programmes and policies and provide expert advice on interpretation of condition and performance monitoring data along with the recommended action plan required to provide assurance on reliability and availability of equipment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Condition Monitoring Policies and Programmes
  • Develop and co-ordinate Condition Monitoring policies and programmes and provide expert advice on interpretation of condition monitoring data to provide an early warning signal to plants
  • Define requirements of condition monitoring instruments, systems in new equipment which are procured by projects teams / end users and integrate them with existing systems.


Condition Monitoring units at sites
  • Assess the adequacy of the condition monitoring sections within the plants and recommend ways to improve such sections.
  • Collect monthly data from sites (running hours, vibration signatures, trips related to vibration and condition of equipment), analyse and provide recommendations if any based on equipment critical parameters.
  • Provide an action plan to standardise all condition monitoring sections within the company.


Surveys on the rotating equipment
  • Follow-up with sites to ensure regular surveys of rotating equipment and advice on any remedial actions needed.


Vibration surveys
  • Participate, Follow-up and review vibration survey data during equipment commissioning and operation to ensure that standards are met.


Field Service Support
  • Witness scheduled and unscheduled field service inspections of rotating equipment carried out by third party service providers to ensure quality of the work carried out
  • Assist plants in identifying solutions to address rotating equipment problems, utilising various condition monitoring and performance methodologies
  • Conduct RCA and provide solutions for chronic and repeated problems.


On-line condition monitoring system
  • Participate in predictive digitalization software project which is an on-line system monitor centrally at Head Quarters to monitor and evaluate all a vital rotating equipment condition and performance data.
  • Propose the enhancing of the rotating equipment long term shutdown plan according to the equipment condition review and past history.
  • Develop and maintain offline monitoring for critical equipment where on-line and continuous monitoring not available.


Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) recommendations
  • Review OEM's recommendations regarding available condition monitoring systems to consider their acquisition.
  • Discuss machinery condition with OEM and find solutions to assure integrity.
  • Streamline the vibration limits settings in the systems etc.


Equipment Balancing and Testing
  • Witness and review reports of rotor balancing and final performance tests following overhaul / repair to ensure that standard acceptable limits are followed.


Condition of the equipment
  • Use the new digitization software to predictions on equipment condition so that shutdown can be optimized through proper planning.


Knowledge Management
  • Update technical knowledge, adapt to new technology and keep abreast of latest technical advances to share knowledge with staff of all sites.


Supervision
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.


Budgets
  • Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control


Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.


Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.


Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.


Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification.


Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 8 years of experience in the field of Rotating Equipment and its Condition and Performance Monitoring with full knowledge of HSE Guide Lines within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Sound knowledge and skills in Equipment Condition and Performance Monitoring.
  • Experience with Gas Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Pumps, Gear Boxes and Turbo-expanders to perform above mentioned key accountabilities is essential.
  • Vibration Level-I and II certificates will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge in analysing equipment vibration signatures.
  • Good knowledge about rotating equipment design, engineering, construction and maintenance and operation in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity of international design codes and standards, procurement, construction, (pre) commissioning and hand-over specification packages for rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity of the capabilities and shortcomings of Condition Monitoring equipment manufacturers, and a proven track record of conducting technical and commercial negotiations with them.
  • Skills in Procurement, preparation and evaluation of Tenders.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of MAXIMO.
  • Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording.
