In which organization will you work as a Site Manager?

We are currently looking for a Site Manager on behalf of our client, a major player in electricity transmission and offshore wind grid connection infrastructure.

The position is part of projects aimed to connect several offshore wind farms to the French electricity grid.

This mission will mainly take place at the fabrication yard in Newcastle (United Kingdom), where the EPCI contractor is manufacturing the offshore electrical platform jackets.

Site Manager: What will be your missions and responsibilities?

As Site Manager, you will act as the client's representative on the fabrication yard and ensure the proper execution of construction activities until load-out and transport of the structures.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Site representation and coordination
  • Represent the client on the construction site (yard)
  • Attend and represent the client in daily and weekly meetings with the EPCI contractor
  • Act as the interface between the site team and the project team based in Paris
  • Supervise all interventions from client personnel and external parties
  • Ensure compliance with site access procedures and HSE rules

Monitoring contractor activities
  • Supervise fabrication and assembly activities performed by the EPCI contractor
  • Monitor contractor performance in terms of quality, HSE, cost and schedule
  • Identify and report any contractual deviations
  • Support the analysis and resolution of technical issues in coordination with engineering teams

Operational coordination and team management
  • Coordinate the client's operational activities at the yard
  • Manage and support the teams deployed on site
  • Supervise inspections according to ITP (Inspection Test Plan), technical specifications and applicable standards
  • Coordinate activities with certification bodies and the Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS)

Reporting
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting
  • Contribute to the project return of experience


What profile and skills are required for this Site Manager position?

Education

Engineering degree or technical background in industrial construction, offshore, shipbuilding or energy projects.

Experience
  • Strong experience in yard or industrial construction site management
  • Experience in offshore steel structure fabrication
  • Previous involvement in offshore oil & gas or offshore wind projects

Skills
  • Team management and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication, welding and offshore coating activities
  • Ability to defend the client's interests when interacting with contractors
  • Strong project monitoring skills (schedule, quality, cost, HSE)
  • Excellent communication skills in an international environment
  • Professional level of English required (French is a plus)

Salary and benefits
  • Initial 12-month mission (200 man-days) with possible extension
  • Position mainly based in Newcastle, United Kingdom
  • Pre-mobilization possible in Paris or Nantes offices
  • Potential travel to other fabrication sites across Europe
