This Position reports to:
Service Operations Manager

From our certified ABB repair shop, execute repair and maintenance work of low to medium complexity in Low Voltage Drives according to work instructions and in accordance to ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Deliver quality customer service to satisfy expectations. In close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.

Main Accountabilities:

ABB's Drives Systems team of professionals deliver solutions and services ensuring our customers get the most out of their investment .

The role consists of, but is not limited to;

  • Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair low voltage drives, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.


  • Cost Estimation: Provide accurate cost estimates for repairs, including parts and labor, and communicate these estimates to customers.


  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair needs, maintenance procedures, and cost estimates.


  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and cost estimates.


  • Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.


  • Responsible for own work, either as a member of a team or independently, and may provide work direction to technicians or associate s on projects


  • Preventative Maintenance: Occasionally p erform routine preventative maintenance on low voltage drives at customer sites to prevent equipment failures and ensure longevity.


  • Is part of a P&L operation, balancing customer satisfaction and profitability


Work Environment: Primarily based in a workshop setting with occasional travel to customer sites. May involve working in various environments, including industrial and commercial settings.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • Education: T echnical diploma/ certification in electronics or a related Electro-Technical field preferred.


  • Experience: Proven experience in repairing and maintaining low voltage drives or similar equipment.


  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in low voltage systems or electronics.


  • Experience: Previous experience in a repair shop or field service.


  • Strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to customer needs, strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.


  • Technical communication skills in English including the ability to write reports and speak effectively before customers or employees. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.


  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using repair tools and equipment.


  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment up to 35 lbs (15kg) , work in various environments, and occasional travel to local customer sites as needed.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $75,300 and $110,440 annually and is bonus eligible. This position is a replacement of a current role.
