This role will be reporting to the R&D Line Manager in business area Process Automation (PA) located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will have the chance to initiate and lead technology, software, product, or solution development by applying deep technical knowledge in a focused area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also demonstrate your technical leadership by supporting strategic corporate technology management and shaping future product, software, and solution architectures.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methods to support innovative problem-solving and the creation of effective solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain core software components, implement new features, and analyze system issues reported by customers or end users.
• Participate in design discussions, documentation, code reviews, and IP strategy initiatives, ensuring maintainable and high-quality solutions.
• Boost productivity by implementing DevOps and CI/CD practices and providing technical training, while working closely with teams and following organizational values

Qualifications for the role:

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech with 60%+ and 8-12 years of experience, with a minimum of 6 years working extensively on C# and .NET development.
• Solid experience using C#, .NET Core, Web APIs, and microservices architecture to design and build web applications Core, Web APIs, and Microservices architecture with experience in designing and developing web-based applications.
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), OOAD principles, and design patterns, with practical experience using MVC, ASP.NET, LINQ, and task-based programming.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, implementing unit/component testing (xUnit, NUnit or similar frameworks), and delivering high-quality code.
• Practical experience with databases like PostgreSQL, relational databases, time-series stores, and NoSQL systems, combined with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments with CI/CD tools, and exposure to Microsoft Azure, containerization (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and modern development practices.
• Professional and personal qualities such as leadership, stakeholder collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively under changing conditions; exposure to security, networking, Angular/HTML/CSS, or Industrial Automation domain is welcomed.
