Let me tell you about the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Application Manager to oversee the lifecycle of our critical business applications and infrastructure solutions on board the bp fleet. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation, continuous improvement, and strategic evolution of our portfolio, aligning with BP's business objectives.

What you will deliver

* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of application-related projects, leveraging Digital Project Management methodologies and Agility core practices.
* Manage the configuration, deployment, and release processes for applications, ensuring Continuous deployment and release best practices are followed.
* Oversee and maintain application configurations, including Configuration management, documentation and related activities.
* Work with suppliers and bp teams to Identify, assess, and mitigate digital vulnerabilities.
* Ensure the security and integrity of applications and data, adhering to Information Security policies and best practices.
* Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
* Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, both written and verbal.

What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)

* Proven experience in an Application Manager or similar role.
* Strong understanding and practical application of Agility core practices.
* Demonstrated experience in Digital Project Management.
* Proficiency in Continuous deployment and release processes.
* Solid experience with Configuration management and related tools.
* In-depth knowledge of Service operations and resilience principles.
* Ability to perform Risk Management and implement mitigation strategies.
* Strong background in Information Security best practices.
* Experience with Analytics tools and data-driven decision making.
* Excellent Coaching and leadership skills.
* Strong Facilitation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
