What You Can Expect
As our Energy Market Intern you will help shape ENGIE's long‑term market outlook by supporting the development of internal market fundamentals, comparing them against leading market consultants, and contributing to revenue projections and LCOE calculations for ENGIE's operating and pipeline assets across North America. As our Energy Market Intern you will help shape ENGIE's long‑term market outlook by supporting the development of internal market fundamentals, comparing them against leading market consultants, and contributing to revenue projections and LCOE calculations for ENGIE's operating and pipeline assets across North America. This Summer term is full-time; no more than 40 hours per week and you will report to the Director of Economic Analysis.
You will:
- Support development of ENGIE's internal view on market pricing across North American markets. Compare ENGIE assumptions and outputs with various external consultant forecasts to highlight differences and drivers
- Collect, organize, and maintain market inputs-including fuel prices, load forecasts, capacity trends, policy drivers, and technology outlooks. Track changes over time and benchmark consultant inputs and outputs against ENGIE's internal datasets
- Assist in developing long term revenue trajectories for ENGIE's operating and development stage assets across multiple ISOs. Contribute to streamlining and automating revenue compilation processes
- Conduct research on industry trends, policy developments, and market fundamentals. Analyze consultant reports and market data, identify emerging patterns, and prepare recurring insights for internal stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 2nd year undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Science, or related field with data analytics background
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Additional Details
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- The internship work term will be from June 1,2026 to August 21, 2026.
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- Business acumen with an ability to prepare quantitative analysis
- Good interpersonal skills, with exceptional organization, prioritization, and time management skills, with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
- Familiarity with Python, VBA, or Power BI
