We're looking for a Renewable Energy Engineer to provide technical support across the lifecycle of utility‑scale wind, solar and BESS projects, with a strong focus on layout design and energy yield analysis. Working closely with development, engineering, procurement, commercial and asset management teams, you'll help shape ENGIE's growing renewable pipeline and support our net‑zero commitments.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and optimise wind (primary), solar and BESS layout designs using industry tools.
- Conduct energy yield assessments to inform investment decisions and project financing.
- Support development team preparing all technical/engineering inputs required for planning and environmental approvals.
- Support procurement/commercial team during OEM and contractors tender processes, including tender evaluation, technical contract negotiations, etc.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical due diligence, performance assessment and engagement with OEMs, consultants and contractors.
- Manage wind and solar monitoring equipment and portfolio data, including occasional site attendance.
About You
You are analytical, detail‑focused and collaborative, with the ability to translate technical insights into practical project outcomes. You enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and working with diverse teams across the project lifecycle.
You'll also bring:
- A degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience working on wind project development (design, technology, construction or operations).
- Exposure to solar or BESS technologies (desirable).
- Proficiency in energy modelling tools such as WindPRO, CFD, PVsyst or PVDesign.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, performance monitoring tools and operational data analysis.
- Experience contributing to technical due diligence for financing or M&A processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Understanding of the Australian renewable energy market, standards and grid connection requirements.
