About the Role
We're looking for a Grid Engineer to provide technical expertise across the development, design, grid connection, commissioning and operation of renewable, BESS and hybrid energy projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring electrical designs are compliant, safe and efficient-meeting regulatory, NSP and internal engineering standards while supporting reliable asset performance across ENGIE's portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate end to end grid connection activities, including reviewing GPS studies, modelling packages and technical submissions for AEMO and NSPs.
• Support and review power system modelling studies (PSCAD, PSS®E, PowerFactory) performed by consultants and OEMs, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance with NER requirements.
• Review electrical Balance of Plant (BoP) concepts and designs to ensure compliance with standards and optimised connection outcomes.
• Provide technical expertise across HV, MV and LV electrical design, protection systems, SCADA, communications and metering.
• Support project delivery teams during construction and commissioning-troubleshooting issues, reviewing test plans and participating in FATs, SATs and grid compliance activities.
• Contribute to operational performance by supporting troubleshooting, regulatory compliance (including GPS obligations) and root cause analysis.
About You
You're an analytical problem solver with strong technical capability in power systems and grid connection engineering. You thrive in dynamic project environments and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant and high quality outcomes.
For this role, Australian experience is essential.

To succeed in this position, you need hands on experience navigating these frameworks, managing local stakeholders, and delivering compliant technical submissions within the Australian NEM environment. This ensures you can contribute effectively from day one and progress projects, especially thought connection approval and commissioning phase without delay.
You'll also bring:
• A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems (RFEng or CPEng preferred).
• Extensive Australian experience in grid connection engineering, electrical design or power system modelling across renewable, BESS or HV projects.
• Proficiency in tools such as PSCAD, PSS®E or PowerFactory.
• Strong understanding of NER requirements, GPS processes, protection systems, NSP/AEMO engagement and relevant grid codes.
• Experience working with EPC/BOP contractors, OEMs and technical/grid consultants.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in fast paced project environments with occasional travel as required.
At ENGIE, every talent has a role to play in accelerating the energy transition. Make a difference and enjoy a fulfilling professional experience. Take on exciting challenges and build a career path that reflects who you are.
