Join our Technology Team and advance your career as a Senior SAP Solutions Engineer

This role supports the bp T&S Technology Finance SAP organization, whose SAP services underpin the global, cross commodity settlement and accounting processes across the business.

As a Senior SAP Solutions Engineer, you act as a technology service expert responsible for the definition, enhancement and operation of critical IT services. You apply both traditional service management practices and modern site/software reliability engineering principles to ensure resilience, performance and continuous improvement.

In this role You will:

• Govern and deliver technological services from internal squads and external providers, ensuring all services meet agreed SLOs, performance expectations, risk appetite, and resilience standards
• Safeguard operational integrity and ensure compliance with both regulatory requirements and internal policies, working effectively across DevOps delivery models and traditional outsourced service structures
• Support the SAP Design Lead and Product Manager by organizing and prioritizing work such as design reviews, testing, operational activities, and enhancements to digital solutions
• Uphold architectural, security, and compliance standards to drive operational excellence in all solution areas
• Collaborate with global business groups and Technology teams to deliver high‑quality solutions, following established management processes to ensure smooth and timely releases
• Identify recurring issues, promote standardization, proactively manage risks, and contribute to the rapid resolution of critical production incidents

What You will need to be successful:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Strong SAP ECC (S/4) FI expertise as the primary area, complemented by experience in other SAP technologies such as LO, VIM or BW.
• Shown ability to design and deliver SAP enhancements end‑to‑end, from requirement clarification through testing and deployment
• Ability to perform thorough technical impact assessments, including evaluation of dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines for change requests
• Experience managing the full project lifecycle, from analysis and design to deployment and operational handover
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology platforms and the ability to translate business needs into clear, high‑quality technical specifications
• Proactive approach to risk identification and delivering stable, resilient technical solutions
• Commitment to maintaining clear, structured documentation and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing
• Ability to work effectively with business partners, Enterprise Technology Engineers, and development teams
• Strong collaborator who builds trusted cross‑functional relationships and supports co‑creation across teams
• Need strong English knowledge

Desirable Criteria:

• Experienced in hybrid delivery models with strong IT project execution and cross‑functional coordination.
• Delivers across the full SAP solution lifecycle, from design and implementation to maintenance and documentation.
• Hands‑on in incident management with a solid understanding of Finance and Logistics processes, supported by practical experience in SAP ECC and exposure to SAP S/4HANA.
