JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently looking for a Junior Construction Engineer to support Mechanical & Piping (M&P) and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) construction activities.

  • Interfacing with engineering and commission personnel to review strategy, design and design deliverables and provide constructability and operability input into the design/construction work-packs.
  • Development and compilation of construction work packs ensuring the inclusion of all necessary deliverables, specifications, safety documentation, job cards, philosophies, strategies, method statements, procedures and other supporting documentation sufficient to allow the safe and efficient execution of the works.
  • Provide Construction technical support when required to the engineering design team.
  • Provide assistance to the resolution of construction technical queries and open punch list items to ensure timely close out to the satisfaction of the construction team.
  • Assist in the preparation of man-hour estimates and installation job cards for all construction and commissioning work-packs.
  • Liaison with fabricators, sub-contractors and others on matters concerning construction work-pack activity.
  • The WPE will work closely with the Engineering and Project Control Functions. Asset Focal Points and TAR Coordinator


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the development of the construction plans, schedules and estimates for individual work-packs and inclusion to the integrated plan.
  • May require visits to onshore and offshore locations to carry out surveys and give construction engineering input to on-site implementation activities
  • Communicating with Operations, Facilities management, BP focal points, Sub-contractors, implementation teams and others as necessary to ensure modifications works are detailed into the work-pack.
  • Ensuring that all changes are captured by the change control process, and have input to the said change control process.
  • Evaluating potential risk utilising project risk review and assessment tools and procedures, for inclusion into the construction and commissioning work-packs.
  • Must have working knowledge of WPS and On-track work package programs, basic planning software packages, including excel, word.
  • Must have acceptable level of English both written and verbal.
  • Ensures that all work packages are developed in line with the requirements of the BP Permit to Work and Safety Systems.
  • Co-ordinating between onshore management, and other WGPSN offshore FTL's.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Attending planning meetings in order to anticipate forthcoming problems.
  • Ensuring that all work packs contain the latest information and procedures as defined within the Company Management Systems as the primary means of work control.
  • Piping and Mechanical WPE's must have had previous hands on supervisory onshore and offshore installation and hydro testing experience and have an excellent understanding off Piping / Mechanical/ Structural works.
  • Electrical / Instrument WPE's must have had previous hands on onshore and offshore supervisory / installation experience and have an excellent understanding off both electrical and Instrument works.
  • Electrical WPE's must have Hazardous Area. HV High and Low voltage installation and testing experience
  • Interface with commissioning manager and develop commissioning work packs containing all the relevant drawings, schedules, method statements ITR's and MC documents etc. are completed in line with the plan.
  • Liaison with the Certifying Authority Representative as required.
  • Progress & Productivity reporting - daily & weekly.
  • Planning - daily & weekly offshore Reports.
