- Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood HSE processes. Promote Company HES initiatives, as possible.
- Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood Quality Assurance systems and processes.
- Study and understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of plans and schedules.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of planning control structures in alignment with the approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Develop and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Produce manpower histograms to provide accurate forecasts of the manpower resources required to execute planned work.
- Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle. Work with all relevant project and discipline personnel to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
- Provide copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements. Gather accurate progress and expended man hours information at relevant time intervals.
- Act as a focal point for panning related matters on the assigned projects
- Provide subject matter expert guidance in planning for the assigned projects and also for other team members.
- Ensure participate in peer reviews for the schedules prepared to be issued to the Client, as per Lead/ Principal Planners guidance
- Support Lead/ Principal planner in successful delivery and achieving goals set for the Planning Team
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Produce and issue updates to project plans and schedules.
- Communicate the impact of schedule delays / conflicts to the project team to assist in the development of recovery decisions.
- Support the Project Controls Manager and Planning Lead as appropriate.
- Supervise junior and assistant personnel, including checking their work.
- Liaise with cost discipline in the control and forecasting of man hour budgets and ensuring that all scopes including change requests are included in the schedules.
- Participate in schedule risk analysis as required.
- Provide mentoring to Junior Planning Team members ad participate competency assessments, if necessary
- Continuously chase feedback from the Delivery Team and address any concerns with Lead/ Principal Planner
- Where required assist with and provide input to the audit process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within the oil & gas, energy, or engineering consulting sector.
- Proven hands‑on experience in developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of project planning principles, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), scheduling logic, and critical path analysis.
- Experience in manpower forecasting, including preparation of manpower histograms and resource‑loaded schedules.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and controlling project schedules across all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Familiarity with HSE and Quality Management systems and the ability to work in accordance with company and project procedures.
- Experience collaborating with cost control teams to support man‑hour budgeting, forecasting, and change management.
- Exposure to schedule risk analysis and mitigation planning is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients when required.
- Experience in mentoring junior planners and reviewing their deliverables is desirable.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
