Where will you work as a Cost Control Manager (M/F) ?



We are looking for a Cost Control Manager (M/F) for one of our clients in the energy sector, who will be based in Charenton-le-Pont.

Cost Control Manager (M/F) : What will your duties and responsibilities be?

As a Cost Control Manager (M/F), you will provide essential support to the Project Manager in managing cost control and will also be responsible for compiling the monthly Project Status Report (PSR). Based on the project's contractual objectives, you will ensure that costs, resources, and identified risks are properly aligned, working closely with all members of the existing team. To do this:

During the project execution phase:
  • You will help identify and quantify project risks
  • After obtaining approval from the relevant business managers, you will ensure that the resources (hours) allocated to various activities are accounted for and that these hours align with the projected schedule
  • You will lead the monthly risk and opportunity monitoring process
  • You will prepare and maintain the monthly Project Status Report


Cost Control:
  • You define the cost structure applicable to the project
  • You prepare cost estimates in accordance with the contract terms, the price sheet, the projected resources by discipline, and the defined project execution strategy
  • You prepare the budget for each request for proposal and purchase order
  • You maintain project-end cost estimates based on committed and remaining costs, and analyze variances with the relevant departments
  • You anticipate cost overruns based on quantities from the price sheet and propose mitigation measures in consultation with the project manager


Coordination and Interfaces:
  • You propose preventive or corrective measures to control or anticipate cost overruns
  • You ensure that cost forecasts are reviewed and approved by stakeholders
  • You prepare and update monthly reporting materials
  • You alert relevant parties to cost overruns or potential cost overruns
  • You communicate relevant information to stakeholders regarding the status of costs, risks, and trends
  • You establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • You ensure that project non-conformities (NCs) are tracked, validate the Cost of Quality (COPQ) for detected NCs on the project, and analyze them against the budget.
  • You prepare project reports in accordance with client standards, updated monthly and including the project schedule, projected and actual workload plans, the percentage of completion for project tasks (Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Construction), the S-curve, the SRA, variances (budget, project hours), and Project Operating Income,
  • You ensure the monthly update of the project staffing plan, including a review of disciplines, as well as cash flow forecasts
  • You ensure the quarterly update of revenue and margin forecasts based on progress in accordance with IFRS standards
  • You prepare a project capitalization table, to be submitted at the end of the project


What profile and skills are required for this position of Cost Control Manager (M/F) ?

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in cost control in an industrial setting
  • You have advanced skills in budget monitoring and risk management
  • You are proficient in tools such as SAP
  • You have a professional level of English and French
