- The Area Construction Lead (Civil) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all civil construction activities within the assigned area of the Gas Terminal Project.
- The role ensures safe, high-quality, and efficient execution of works in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
- The position also plays a key role in constructability reviews, workpack readiness, and certification-driven handover of completed works
Construction Planning, Workpack Review & Coordination - Participate in constructability review sessions during engineering and pre-construction phases to ensure practical and efficient execution strategies.
- Review and provide input to civil workpacks during preparation, ensuring completeness, constructability, and alignment with site execution requirements.
- Verify that workpacks include all required deliverables (approved drawings, materials, method statements, risk assessments, and inspection requirements).
- Participate in workpack review and approval processes and ensure only construction-ready workpacks are released for execution.
- Assist in the development of construction schedules, work packs, and execution strategies aligned with overall project milestones.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and other disciplines to ensure readiness of drawings, materials, and resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise civil construction activities including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, structural installations, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Manage subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of works.
- Ensure execution follows approved workpacks and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Monitor daily and weekly progress against the construction schedule and identify deviations.
- Track installed quantities and productivity rates in line with project targets.
- Provide regular progress reports, forecasts, and recovery plans where required
- Ensure all civil works comply with project quality standards, ITPs, and applicable codes and specifications.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams and ensure timely closure of inspection points.
- Identify and manage non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively
- Ensure all construction activities are supported by proper certification in line with project requirements.
- Manage and track completions using approved software systems (e.g., MC, ITR, completions database).
- Ensure all required documentation is completed for handover (test records, inspection reports, as-built status).
- Coordinate with commissioning and completions teams to facilitate smooth and timely system/subsystem handover.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in line with project HSE policies and procedures.
- Ensure all activities are executed under approved risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
- Participate in safety walks, audits, and incident investigations.
- Interface with client representatives, engineering teams, QA/QC, and other discipline leads.
- Ensure alignment of civil construction activities with overall project priorities and interfaces.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in civil construction within oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in site-based roles, preferably on large-scale terminal or similar projects.
- Experience with workpack-driven construction execution and completions systems is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of civil construction practices, sequencing, and constructability.
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and workpacks.
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with a "Right First Time" execution mindset.
- Willingness to work in a site-based environment (including rotational assignments if required).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight project schedules.
