Job Description:

We are literally defining the future - reimagining & reinventing energy

About bpx energy

bpx energy, a major oil and gas producer in the United States, uses its expertise in unconventional gas, including shale, to deliver hydrocarbon production and technical knowledge worldwide. With operations in Texas and Louisiana, our US onshore business has become both a premier oil and gas producer and a leader in reducing methane emissions. As part of bp, a global industry leader, we foster a high-energy, high-intensity environment built on accountability, collegiality, and empowerment.

If you want to do work that matters on a team that's building the future of energy, you belong here!

About the Role

As the Completions Manager for our Haynesville Business Unit, you will lead one of the most critical elements of our development program-driving the safe, efficient, and high‑performance execution of all basin completion activities. You'll manage the full lifecycle of the completion program, from design and planning through field execution and handover to production.

The ideal candidate brings proven leadership, deep completion engineering expertise, and a strong record of operational excellence in unconventional resource plays. Success in this role depends on close collaboration with drilling, subsurface, production, and supply chain teams to deliver the Haynesville development program effectively.

This position is suited for a strategic, decisive leader who thrives in a fast‑moving environment and applies both technical depth and operational discipline to every stage of the completion lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of completion engineers, field superintendents, and operations personnel.
  • Champion a culture centered on safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of completion operations - pre‑stim, stimulation, post‑stim, and recompletions.
  • Ensure all activities meet or exceed bpx's rigorous safety and compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement to unlock efficiency, reduce cycle time, and elevate well productivity.

Engineering Oversight

  • Guide engineers in developing optimal, reservoir‑aligned completion designs.
  • Lead post‑job reviews, integrate lessons learned, and build the technical playbook for future wells.

Planning & Resource Optimization

  • Manage basin‑level completion budgets, AFEs, and cost performance.
  • Coordinate mission‑critical services: frac fleets, wireline, sand logistics, water management, and drillout operations.

Cross‑Functional Impact

  • Work seamlessly with drilling, subsurface, production, facilities, HSE, and supply chain to ensure cohesive well delivery.
  • Clearly communicate performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership and key stakeholders.

Essential Education and Experience:

You thrive at the intersection of technical mastery, operational leadership, and people development. You build trust, elevate standards, and deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum preferred).
  • 9+ years in completions engineering/operations, including leadership experience.
  • Proven success delivering completion programs in unconventional resource plays.
  • Expert knowledge of hydraulic fracturing, stimulation design, and completion field execution.
  • Strong vendor management and contract oversight skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams and leadership levels.
  • One team mind-set - demonstrates an understanding of the value of, and ability to develop, high quality, trust-based relationships with the wider organization - leaders & employees.
