Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Fan module engineer to support efforts around product durability and validation. Recognize and complete validation activities, own repair substantiation efforts, define the leading indicator program and partner with other organizations for implementation, and serve as the focal for the module.
- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Work with a variety of engineering organizations and contribute to the development of the engine systems and designs and to identify potential in-service issues and develop preventative solutions.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Participate and present in technical reviews to discuss operational challenges, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Use understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work. Establish good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Lead and support root cause analysis efforts for in-service engine issues, coordinating with relevant engineering disciplines to develop effective corrective actions.
- Develop and implement in-service readiness plans for the GE9X engine, including spare parts availability, tooling, training, and documentation.
- Develop and deliver technical training materials and presentations to airline customers, field service representatives, and internal support teams.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of maintenance procedures, service bulletins, and other technical publications.
- Manage and prioritize technical queries and support requests from GE9X operators, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Support field investigations and on-wing troubleshooting activities as required, potentially involving travel to customer sites.
- Be responsible for monitoring and communicating project status to Engineering leadership. Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Resolve issues in situations within current technical knowledge base and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in design, manufacturing, field service, or product support engineering
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of gas turbine engine operation, maintenance, repair, engine manuals and FAA regulations.
- Experience with data analysis tools and techniques for identifying trends and anomalies in complex datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead problem-solving efforts and drive cross-functional teams to resolution.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to travel as required (approximately 10-20%).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with GE Aerospace engineering processes and tools is a plus.
- Prior experience with engine entry into service programs is highly desirable.
