Reliability Development and Improvement Lead

Key responsibilities
  • Provide visible, active leadership and supervision for Reliability Engineers and Asset Strategy Coordinators.
  • Shape, strengthen, and sustain asset reliability programs, projects, and processes across supported assets.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset by removing barriers and delivering simple, fit for purpose solutions.
  • Establish, maintain, and report key performance indicators that provide insight into the effectiveness of reliability programs.
  • Set clear expectations for team and individual deliverables; monitor progress, timelines, quality, and performance, and report outcomes.
  • Provide work direction, coaching, training, feedback, and professional development to build and sustain team capability.
  • Be accountable for developing competence within the Reliability team and supporting career growth aligned with business needs.
  • Prioritise work and ensure the team is appropriately resourced to meet commitments and emerging reliability and mechanical integrity priorities.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional groups to ensure availability and alignment of technical resources across assets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and Chevron policies, standards, instructions, and guidelines.
  • Implement and sustain Chevron processes and systems in support of required work activities.
  • Execute Chevron's Performance Management Process consistently and effectively.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment for all team members.
  • Understand asset requirements and priorities and clearly communicate work expectations and priorities to the team.
  • Ensure team training plans are aligned with business requirements and asset needs.
  • Support CMMS migration initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of Reliability Engineering / Maintenance Build experience in an LNG or complex processing facility
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of asset management frameworks, maintenance strategy development, and criticality analysis.
  • High proficiency in Excel and structured data handling for load sheet preparation.
  • Familiarity with asset hierarchy, Equipment criticality assignment, asset strategies and master data.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, vendor packages, datasheets, SPIR's and engineering documents.
  • Experience in JDE/Maximo and SAP/ S/4HANA.
  • Ability to validate and update maintainable equipment registers.
  • Knowledge of RCM/sRCMs and asset strategy optimization.
  • Experience building or validating PMs, job plans, and task lists.
  • Understanding of BOM creation, structure, and validation.
  • Experience in migration from JDE/Maximo/SAP to S4HANA will be preferred.
  • Strong project coordination skills.
  • Understanding of data governance and technical object standards.
  • Ability to manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across functions.
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks (ISO 55000, 14224, OSHA, API).
  • Understanding of Process Safety and its application in the oil & gas or chemical processing industry will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance builds for major Oil & Gas operators is preferred in upstream/downstream operations.
