Job Title: Procurement Engineer (Control Valves)

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary

Support procurement activities aligned with inventory management objectives. Ensure timely sourcing, supplier compliance, and efficient purchase order execution while adhering to internal procedures, quality standards, and supply chain requirements. Act as a key liaison between suppliers and internal teams to drive performance, delivery, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supply Chain

  • Initiate RFQs in line with approved vendor lists and sourcing strategies
  • Issue and manage purchase orders for castings, trims, and related components via ERP systems
  • Ensure timely procurement aligned with factory requirements and supplier lead times
  • Monitor and manage PO execution, including external suppliers, intercompany transfers, and third-party components
  • Maintain accurate delivery schedules and update system data based on supplier feedback
  • Drive proactive actions on delayed or early deliveries, including root cause analysis

Supplier Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for supplier communication
  • Address technical queries related to components, ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate supplier meetings and calls
  • Support supplier onboarding in line with compliance, NDA, and quality requirements
  • Influence supplier performance to meet delivery, quality, and cost objectives

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all procurement activities align with internal QA procedures
  • Verify that materials and final products meet required specifications and standards
  • Ensure compliance with inspection plans and testing requirements
  • Support trade compliance and customs clearance requirements

Logistics & Inventory

  • Coordinate logistics with forwarders, vendors, and internal teams
  • Manage customs duty exemptions and clearance processes
  • Review and optimise planning parameters such as lead times, MOQ, safety stock, and inventory classification
  • Drive improvements in inventory turnover while ensuring supply continuity

Financial & Reporting

  • Reconcile supplier statements and coordinate with finance on invoice issues
  • Ensure timely processing of payments and resolution of discrepancies
  • Provide regular reports on supplier performance and procurement metrics

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Operations teams
  • Align sourcing strategies with project and operational requirements

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and deliver consistent results
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2–5 years of overall experience
  • Minimum 3 years of procurement experience within control valves or a related industry
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding of procurement processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS CPIM certification (or in progress) or CIPS Level 5 Diploma
  • Experience with PowerApps, Excel macros, or basic coding
