Buildings Infrastructure Design Manager/Coordinator -Defence

At KBR, we are looking for an experienced Design Manager or Design Coordinator to join our Adelaide Buildings & Infrastructure team, working on major Defence building and infrastructure projects that truly matter. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, helping to coordinate complex designs and shape project outcomes from concept through delivery.

In this role, you'll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, apply your technical and coordination expertise, and contribute to high‑profile Defence programs in a fast‑moving environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate design activities across multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams.
• Support the planning, development and delivery of complex buildings and infrastructure projects within Defence environments.
• Facilitate design meetings, technical reviews, stakeholder coordination and design issue resolution.
• Provide structured design management support, ensuring alignment to scope, quality, budget and schedule requirements.
• Work closely with architects, engineers and Defence stakeholders to support project integration and client expectations.
• Contribute to the development of design methodologies, processes and tools that enhance consistency and quality.
• Support interface management across disciplines to ensure seamless communication and technical coordination.
• Promote collaboration, information flow and discipline engagement across large design teams.
• Uphold design governance, documentation standards and Defence-specific project requirements including ITAR constraints.

Skills & Experience Required:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Either significant architectural experience within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, or significant engineering experience working closely with architects.
• Approximately 7-10+ years' experience in the buildings and infraastructure sector, gained within an engineering consultancy or delivery environment.
• Demonstrated experience working in large, multidisciplinary project teams, with exposure to complex projects highly regarded.
• Proven capability in Design Management or Design Coordination, operating in a role of influence and technical leadership.
• Strong communication skills, stakeholder confidence, and a collaborative approach across diverse disciplines.

Experience working with Defence clients or within Defence project frameworks is advantageous but not essential, provided clearance and eligibility requirements can be met.
