We are seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Mechanic to join a large‑scale infrastructure project in Scotland. The successful candidate will operate a 300‑ton fully electric maxi rig, performing complex crossings and long-distance bores in challenging ground conditions.

Function Description
Your main responsabilities will be:
- Maintain, inspect, and repair a 300‑ton fully electric HDD maxi rig and all associated equipment.
- Conduct proactive and reactive mechanical troubleshooting, addressing equipment faults, hydraulic issues, electrical systems on the rig, mud pumps, and downhole tooling.
- Perform routine servicing, including lubrication, component checks, system calibration, and consumable replacement.
- Monitor the performance of the rig, mud recycling units, power units, and support equipment, identifying early signs of wear or malfunction.
- Work closely with drillers, supervisors, engineers, and survey teams to coordinate daily mechanical needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an HDD Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic in HDD, pipeline, utilities, or similar sectors.
- Proven experience working with large HDD rigs (250‑ton and above) (preferable but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of electric HDD rigs is a significant advantage.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, high‑pressure pumps, mud systems, and rig power units.
- Full right to work in the United Kingdom.
