JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be a member of the planning team responsible for assembly operations in K Winch, always ensuring alignment with customer demand, resource availability, and production capacity.
• Work closely alongside the planning team to assess current standard costs that are out of variance tolerance, take the necessary steps to correct routing and work definitions, and follow up with finance to publish new lower cost results across all levels of the BOM. Collaborate with team members to identify assembly components that are driving high costs to identify cost saving opportunities.
• Be responsible for monitoring variance trends across project builds, making appropriate changes to work definitions, and reporting to management on changes made at project reviews.
• Analyze BOMs across different products to standardize routings to streamline execution on the shop floor.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of routings, lead times, and work definitions in the MRP system, supporting effective scheduling and reducing inefficiencies.
• Actively participate in recommending reorder and forecast levels of inventory of key components, balancing market lead times with working capital.
• Identify, review and action appropriately Job Cost Variances throughout the production cycle to support financial control and continuous improvement.
• Uphold compliance with all company policies and standards, ensuring accurate record keeping and strong internal controls within the planning function.
• Perform any other duties and special projects as deemed by Planning Manager.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
• Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
• Participate in training where required.
• Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
• To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, finance, supply chain management or related discipline (Finance experience can be considered to fulfill this requirement if not a University Graduate).
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing operations surrounding scheduling, purchasing and inventory control.
• Experience creating work definitions for manufacturing processes within multi-level BOMs.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, castings, CNC machining, product inspection, mechanical assembly.
• Attention to Detail is critical for this role.
• Experience within multi-disciplined Production scheduling role covering CNC machining, Fabrication, Assembly and Testing is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to align and standardize master data for multiple project types in an MRP environment.
