Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. Join us as the Local Division Manager for Distribution Solutions (ELDS) in New Zealand, where you will lead the end‑to‑end operations of the Local Division, including manufacturing, operational performance, technology deployment, and business excellence. You will hold full responsibility for delivering the division's goals across license to operate, culture development, operational performance, customer experience, and financial results.

This role is based onsite at our Medium Voltage manufacturing facility in Henderson, Auckland, a global hub for innovation, producing locally designed switchgear that sets the standard for reliability and performance exported successfully across New Zealand and worldwide. And is a key contributor to ABB's success in New Zealand and the wider Asia region.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Executing a customer-focused operations strategy and delivering financial and non-financial targets for manufacturing operations (e.g., safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity).
• Ensuring a sustainable and effective value-chain, from supplier to customer and from order to delivery
• Developing and continuously improving business processes and procedures to enhance overall factory customer experience
• Creating a strong and well recognized leadership team, with a speak up culture.
• Fostering a culture of empowerment, transparency, collaboration, and inclusion where everyone puts our customers at the center.
• Safeguarding a strong license to operate on integrity, safety, and sustainability
• Conducting operational risk management to validate and improve reliability and effectiveness of business operations.

Qualifications for the role

• Demonstrated experience leading factory operations and full P&L ownership within a relevant industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong commitment to integrity, health & safety, compliance, and fostering an inclusive speak‑up culture.
• An inspirational leadership style that motivates teams to achieve ambitious goals and embrace continuous improvement.
• Customer‑focused mindset with experience working across multiple customer segments or markets.
• Balanced business judgment across people, financials, operations, markets, engineering, and technology.
• A proactive, positive attitude with the confidence to challenge the status quo and drive step‑change improvements.
• Engineering, business, or related degree preferred.
• Experience in electrification, switchgear, or industrial manufacturing is an advantage.
