- Prepare valves and components for industrial spray painting, including cleaning, masking, and surface preparation in line with work instructions and safety requirements.
- Apply industrial coatings using both conventional and airless spray systems to meet specified paint systems, film thickness, and finish requirements.
- Inspect, measure, and test completed work (including film thickness and coverage) to ensure coatings meet quality standards and customer specifications, escalating any issues and contributing to effective problem resolution.
- Continuously refine painting techniques and practices to improve coating consistency, durability, and appearance, sharing ideas that support innovation and process improvement.
- Clean, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on spray equipment, air extraction systems, and related tools to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
- Safely handle, store, and label paints, thinners, and cleaning products in accordance with procedures and environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a tidy, well‑organized work area, including daily housekeeping of the spray booth, equipment, and shared workspaces.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE, participation in safety activities, and proactive identification of hazards and improvement opportunities.
- Support the training, coaching, and upskilling of team members in spray painting techniques and best practices to build overall capability within the site.
- Collaborate with Assembly Operators, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure painted products are delivered on time, meet quality expectations, and support a positive experience for Emerson customers.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Practical experience in industrial spray painting, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, or workshop environment.
- Hands‑on experience using both conventional and airless spray systems for industrial coatings.
- Skill in applying multi‑coat and two‑pack paints to achieve specified film thickness and a consistent, high‑quality finish.
- Ability to identify and address common spray painting issues (e.g., runs, orange peel, insufficient coverage) and adjust technique or equipment settings as needed.
- Experience measuring and verifying coating thickness and quality using appropriate test methods and equipment.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and attachments to safely move products and components.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely as part of preparation and finishing processes.
- Familiarity with working under structured health, safety, and environmental procedures, and a strong personal commitment to safe work practices.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow work instructions, specifications, and documentation accurately.
- Strong teamwork mindset, reliability, and a willingness to support others across the operation when needed.
- Relevant high‑risk work licences such as an overhead crane licence and LF forklift licence, or a willingness to obtain these with support.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience in valve assembly or working with similar engineered mechanical products.
- Previous experience in an engineering factory or heavy industrial environment.
- Exposure to quality assurance systems and procedures, including documentation and non‑conformance reporting.
- Formal training in manual handling and/or a current First Aid Certificate.
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, or process efficiency.
- Experience coaching or training others in spray painting techniques or safe work practices.
- Comfort working in a customer‑focused environment, where quality, reliability, and on‑time delivery are critical.
