We are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Control Engineer, reporting directly to the HOD to join our Instrumentation & Control Department team based in Doha, Qatar.

Job purpose:
  • Preparation and checking of Instrument drawings- Instrument cable block diagram, Instrument Location layout drawing, Control room Layout drawing, Instrument wiring diagram, Loop Diagram, Instrument Hook-up Diagram, MCT drawing, Cable routing and trench layout drawings, Bill Of Materials, Instrument Earthing Diagram, System Architecture diagram, Cause & Effect Diagram, Functional Logic Diagram, Level sketches.
  • Preparation and checking of Instrument schedule, Cable schedule, System Input/Output list, Alarm & Trip Schedule.
  • Inputs to deliverables by various other departments- Input to Cable Trench layout, Input to offshore oil production platform layouts, Input to offshore platform structural weight control report, Input to electrical power consumption list for Instrumentation, Input to air consumption and utility report.
  • Inter-discipline review of deliverables from other departments-P&ID, Plot plan, Piping GA drawings, Equipment layouts, Electrical single line diagrams, HVAC duct layouts, Hazardous area classification drawings, F&G Layout drawings, F&G C&E Diagram.
  • Input to 3D modelling, extraction to 2D and 3D model review.
  • Input to INtools (SPI/AVEVA) and report generation.
  • Technical review of offers for Instrument Bulk items.
  • Vendor drawing review for instruments & packages.
  • Data retrieval, Site survey & site survey reports generation.
  • Response to Site technical queries, Site commissioning Support.
  • Secondment to Client office (If required)

Reporting lines and interactions:

Reports hierarchically to the Head of Discipline and is responsible for:
  • Adherence to the company standards and QHSE policies.
  • Adherence to the department working procedures and checking procedures.
  • Active participation to meetings either internal or external, sharing knowledge and presentation.
  • Participation to the technical training, mentoring people.
  • Close-out of the check list 90 days journey (For new comers only).
  • Maintains good communication within the department and with all stake holders.
  • Undergo technical and safety trainings required to execute the job.
  • Set yearly objective and carry out self evaluation.
  • To be part of quality audit/ spot check of other projects.
  • To contribute to the department DRB (Discipline Reference Base).
  • Demonstrate performance on 5 T. EN core values.
  • To participate to Technology Day, for the technical referent or expert.

Profile Must Have:
Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation or equivalent

Specific skills required:
  • ACAD & MicroStation (MUST).
  • InTools (SPI / AVEVA Instrumentation)- Minimum 1 project independently (MUST).
  • 3D (E3D / SP3D) Modelling- Minimum 1 project independently (MUST).
  • Brown field and Green field Oil & Gas projects detailed engineering (MUST).
  • Experience working with MNC companies for engineering (MUST).
  • Offshore site survey as part of detailed engineering (Preferred)

Main Accountabilities:
  • Plan and execute the design work in order to meet the project schedule.
  • Input to weekly progress reports.
  • Manhour monitoring (maintains manhour log) and control to be within project budget.
  • Maintains records of Quality check prints and Master copy for Quality Audit
