We are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Control Engineer, reporting directly to the HOD to join our Instrumentation & Control Department team based in Doha, Qatar.

Job purpose:
- Preparation and checking of Instrument documents- Instrument data sheets and specification, , Control and Safety system specification, Control and Safety System modification scope of work, Instrument Design basis, Instrument Specification for Package equipment Instrument index, System Input/Output list, Cause & Effect Diagram, Level sketches, Functional Logic Diagram, Control narrative, Alarm & Trip Schedule.
- Review and checking of Instrument drawings-Instrument cable block diagram, Cable schedule, Instrument Location layout drawing, Control room Layout drawing, Instrument wiring diagram, Loop Diagram, Instrument Hook-up Diagram, MCT drawing, Cable routing and trench layout drawings, Bill Of Materials, Instrument Earthing Diagram, System Architecture diagram.
- Inputs to deliverables by various other departments- Input to Material requisition for equipment, Input to P&ID, Input to Control room layout, Input to Cable Trench layout, Input to offshore oil production platform layouts, Input to offshore platform structural weight control report, Input to electrical power consumption list for Instrumentation, Input to air consumption and utility report, Input to project design basis memorandum, Input to control and shutdown philosophy, Input to Fire & Gas Philosophy, Input to HVAC control philosophy.
- Inter-discipline review of deliverables from other departments-P&ID, Plot plan, Piping GA drawings, Equipment layouts, Electrical single line diagrams, HVAC duct layouts, Hazardous area classification drawings, Review of F&G Layout drawings, Review of F&G C&E Diagram.
- Procurement assistance- Preparation of Material Requisition and Technical Bid Evaluation for field Instruments and Control & Safety Systems.
- Vendor drawing review for instruments, Instrument packages (Metering skid), equipment (tanks, pumps) and equipment packages (Compressors, Chemical injection skids, HVAC).
- Data retrieval, Site survey (Offshore & Onshore) & site survey reports generation.
- Review of P&ID, Material selection as per piping specification.
- Participation to risk reviews like Hazop and SIL.
- Instrument sizing Calculation using InstruCalc.
- Input to INtools /AVEVA and report generation.
- Proposal activities-Review of project scope, Technical clarification, prepare list of activities and deliverables required, estimation of man-hours, preparation of method statement, Scope split matrix with EPIC
- Contractor, Scope of work for Third party services.
- Response to Site technical queries, Site commissioning Support.
- Secondment to Client office (If required).
Reporting lines and interactions:
Reports hierarchically to the Head of Discipline and is responsible for:
- Adherence to the company standards and QHSE policies.
- Adherence to the department working procedures and checking procedures.
- Active participation to meetings either internal or external, sharing knowledge and presentation.
- Participation to the technical training, mentoring people.
- Close-out of the check list 90 days journey (For new comers only).
- Maintains good communication within the department and with all stake holders.
- Impart training to juniors engineers and designers.
- Set yearly objective and carry out self-evaluation.
- Undergo technical and other training required to carry out the job.
- To be part of quality audit/ spot check of other projects.
- To contribute to the department DRB (Discipline Reference Base).
- Demonstrate performance on 5 T.EN core values.
- To participate to Technology Day, for the technical referent or expert.
- To participate in improving the performance of the department and to contribute the department procedures
Profile Must Have:
Bachelor of Engineering degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent
Specific skills required:
- Instrument sizing using Instrucalc
- SPI(INTOOLS)
- AVEVA INSTRUMENTATION (Preferred)
- Offshore site survey (Preferred)
- Brown field and Green field Oil & Gas projects
- Experience in DED working with MNC EPC company environment
- 3D Review (Preferred)
- exSILentia software (Preferred)
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer-SIS (Preferred)
Main Accountabilities:
- Plan and execute the design job in order to meet the project schedule.
- Input to weekly progress reports and maintains manhour log.
- Performance of a specific task on a project or proposal as defined by Lead Discipline Engineer.
- Management, maintenance and control of documents and data required for the smooth execution of the job.
- Definition of tasks and supervision of personnel such as designers and draftsmen assigned to the team, including checking of drawings produced.
- Checking and commenting on drawings and documents issued by other disciplines as well as Vendor drawings wherever applicable.
- Reporting main developments and results of tasks performed (including items leading to ICN).
- Update, retrieval and maintenance of design inputs for engineering improvement.
- Participation in meeting with Client, Vendors, Subcontractors etc.
