Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to lead and manage sustainability implementation for a major transportation project in Penang. This is a full-time, site-based role responsible for compliance.

Your role

• Lead and manage all sustainability matters for the project.
• Act as the main liaison with Client, PMC, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement the Project Sustainability Plan and Policy.
• Lead materiality assessment, sustainability KPIs, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee monthly sustainability reporting and audits.
• Drive ESG initiatives, resource efficiency, waste reduction, and CSR programmes.
• Provide sustainability training to site teams and subcontractors.
• Manage and mentor Sustainability Officer(s).

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in sustainability roles (construction / infrastructure preferred).
• Good understanding of Malaysian environmental and sustainability regulations.
• Experience in sustainability reporting and site implementation.
• Strong communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia preferred).
• Preferred certifications / exposure: GBI, CIDB MyCREST, INFRASTAR, pH-JKR, GreenRE, GreenPASS, UN SDGs.
