Function Description
The AB Rigger HDA works offshore on a heavy‑lift crane vessel in a rotational schedule across day and night shifts, performing rigging, deck operations, safety support, and Heli Deck Attendant duties. The role requires living and working in a communal offshore environment with varying weather, noise, and lighting conditions.
The position liaises with all personnel on board and reports to the Safety Officer or Chief Mate. The role includes responsibility for supporting safe operations, encouraging a proactive safety culture, and maintaining safety and lifesaving equipment in line with company procedures and offshore standards.

Requirements
Qualifications & Competencies
- Offshore training in accordance with company and industry standards
- Vessel, project, IIF, and safety induction training
- Familiarity with offshore safety expectations and work management systems
- Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
- Competence in hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work practices
- Ability to work with Permits to Work (PTW)
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, radio use, and hand signals
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and instructions
- Valid Passport
- Seaman's Book
- Required vaccinations (standard + country‑specific)
- BOSIET (including HUET, EBS, Crew Basket)
- STCW & OPITO‑approved medical certificate
- STCW A‑VI/1 Basic Safety
- STCW A‑II/4 Navigational Watchkeeping
- STCW A‑VI/2‑2 Fast Rescue Craft
- STCW A‑VI/6‑1 Security Awareness
- IMDG training
- OPITO Heli Deck Assistant (HDA) & HERTM
- DGAA - Dangerous Goods by Air Awareness
- Crew Basket Transfer
- Working at Height, Fall Protection & Confined Space training
- Lifting & Rigging course for deck personnel
- Knowledge of INFOR, RACE, and eVision PTW systems
- BST‑R / EBS
- H₂S Awareness
- Environmental & regulatory awareness
- Minimum 1 year offshore SHE experience in a heavy‑lift environment (>3,000 mT)
