Function Description

The Welder is responsible for performing SMAW welding on certified and engineered lifting gear, sea fastening, flame‑cut components, plating, and the assembly of prepared construction parts. The role also includes modification and repair of cranes and lifting equipment. In addition, Welders may be required to carry out SMAW pressure pipe and pressure vessel welding, as well as other vessel maintenance tasks as assigned by the Welding Foreman.

Requirements

  • UK National or UK FWP (Frontier Worker Permit)
  • Seaman's Book
  • BOSIET / FOET including HUET and CA‑EBS
  • GWO Working at Heights and GWO Manual Handling
  • STCW Security Awareness
  • Valid Welding Certificates (e.g., 111/135/136/138 or equivalent)
  • OGUK and MLC Seafarer Medical
  • Shoulder measurement, Chester step, Confined space entry
  • Proven experience in welding within offshore, shipyard, or heavy industrial environments
