Job Description

Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Bids & Strategy, Bid Lead is responsible for preparing complex and strategic proposals on behalf of the Nuclear Canada Business Unit. In this capacity, the Bid Lead is responsible for the proposal development lifecycle; coordinating and producing proposals in response to a client inquiry (Request for Proposals, Expressions of Interest, Tenders, Budgetary Estimates, Qualifications, etc.) while assembling a proposal team with the relevant service, product and business knowledge required to win.

This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work collaboratively with multiple functions and deliver under pressure and to challenging deadlines.

Your role

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary bid teams to deliver high-quality, compliant proposals aligned with client needs and business objectives, on time and within budget.
  • Plan and control the end-to-end proposal process, including kickoffs, schedules, inputs, approvals, reviews (Red/Gold Team), and final submission.
  • Develop proposal structure and content, author key narrative sections, and ensure consistent branding, quality, and competitiveness.
  • Manage risk, compliance, ethics, COI disclosures, CRM accuracy, and adherence to corporate policies, Levels of Authority, and approval requirements.
  • Support capture strategy development, purchase order acceptance, transition to project initiation, and senior management approvals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of bid processes, tools, and best practices while managing multiple concurrent bids under tight deadlines.


About you

  • Combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience, with 8+ years of dedicated proposal management experience.
  • Professional certifications preferred, including APMP membership/certification and PMP; Master's degree in business, management, or engineering disciplines is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of engineering consultancy pricing models, including risk, margin, and cashflow considerations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with excellent written English and proposal composition skills.
  • Highly organized, self-directed professional capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with nuclear projects and engineering/technical terminology is an asset.
