This Position reports to:
HR Operations Team Lead

As a Payroll Specialist, you will have the opportunity to perform day-to-day HR transactions for one or several assigned service lines or countries, while also managing complex and escalated tasks. Each day, you will ensure a high-quality customer experience by committing to complete, accurate and timely completion of HR transactions. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the globally set standards for HR operations and ensuring that the respective business processes adhere to the local legal and regulatory requirements.

This role is located in Saint-Laurent or Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and the work model is hybrid.

Responsibilities
  • Verify and process weekly, bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll.
  • Prepare electronic payments for the bank and coordinate the printing of pay slips.
  • Prepare Records of Employment
  • Manage third-party remittances (SQC, garnishments, WSIB/CNESST, etc.) and assist finance team in reconciling associated GLs.
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve issues for employees, managers, accounting group and external government agencies.
  • Assist Payroll Manager with year-end reconciliations, deposits and various other year-end tasks (asset).

Your professional background
  • French is required for this role. English is also required in this role as the individual will be responsible for Alberta and Ontario payroll and will be required to communicate with employees in these provinces.
  • Completion of 1st level CPA course (asset)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll
  • Knowledge of Workday payroll and UKG Kronos systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Payroll Accounting knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize in an efficient and timely manner, and work with cross-functional teams.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with attention to detail.
  • A proactive way of working to serve customers with a can-do attitude.
