About the Role

bp's Technology, Intelligence, Security and Crisis Management (ISC) team provides geopolitical insight, security strategy, and emergency management support to all our businesses. As the Country Security Manager for India, you will be the primary security leader supporting bp's businesses across the country and contributing to regional priorities. You will ensure security risks are identified, assessed, and handled effectively so that bp's people, assets, and operations remain safe and resilient.

This role offers the opportunity to influence security strategy at a national level, guide business leaders, and contribute to regional and global security initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Lead the security framework for bp's businesses in India and support activities across Asia‑Pacific.
• Provide oversight, reporting, and guidance on security issues affecting bp's operations.
• Serve as the focal point for countries in Asia‑Pacific where bp has no local security presence.
• Conduct security reviews and ensure compliance with approved security risk management plans.
• Prepare and handle country security risk registers, risk notifications, and action plans.
• Advise business leaders on political/security developments and represent security on Country Leadership Teams.
• Coordinate with ISC Intelligence, security representatives, and business teams to maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of security threats.
• Lead security compliance during executive visits within the region.
• Provide technical security advice on physical and operational security measures.
• Oversee security service contracts in line with PSCM standards and act as Contract Accountability Manager.
• Build and maintain relationships with public security forces, government authorities, and external agencies.
• Serve as security representative during incident response activations (IMT/CCT).
• Promote compliance with bp's Ethics & Compliance and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.

What You Bring

Education:

• University degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Excellent spoken and written English with strong persuasive writing skills.

Experience:

• Significant experience in security roles running multiple sites at a national level.
• Strong expertise in security risk management and conducting risk assessments.
• Ability to advise and influence senior leaders and participate in national‑level leadership forums.
• Knowledge of physical security systems including CCTV, access control, and monitoring technology.
• Experience developing security policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Experience working with local and national enforcement agencies; exposure to international agencies is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, business cases, and capital projects.

Desirable:

• Membership in a professional security body (e.g., Security Institute, ASIS).
• Experience conducting investigations into fraud or misconduct.
