Job Summary

Once the requisition has been fully sourced and populated by the Sourcing Specialist it is the Procurement Specialists' responsibility to place the order and manage it through to delivery and PO close out, which includes invoicing being processed.

Roles and Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the procurement specialist is to procure and expedite materials which will include:

• Purchase materials and services that comply with the agreed upon specifications and requirement, as well as using contract/standard pricing with suppliers

• Manage the performance of existing suppliers on delivery, quality, price and services

• Good Communication skills and understand material requirements based on project requirements and production plan.

• Create Optimus SAP PO

• Review of supplier order confirmations / order acknowledgements

• Host Kick Off Meeting with Supplier & internal stakeholders.

• Coordination of MPS, FA, Weld Spec Approvals

• Conduct Pre-Production Meetings with supplier to ensure requirements are clearly conveyed.

• Manage Revision Changes

• Work with Planning, Engineering, Quality and Project Management to align project priorities.

• Supplier Schedule Reviews

• Update PO change & conduct PO maintenance.

• Support coordination of Supplier NOI, witness & inspection

• Inventory control - Exception Message Management

• On-time clearance of Supplier Invoice Discrepancies

• Manage NCRs, SDRs and CPARs incl Return/Rework of a defective component.

• Support to QM lot release process as and when required (eg. Help resolve documentation issues related to MRBs)

• Involve the Procurement Specialist Spot Buyer (PSC) in spot buys.

• Participate in continuous improvement projects.

• Use procurement tools when required or mandated by process (OMT, Power BI, BOM Downloader, Ariba, ASL, QUEST)

• To adhere to all company and legal requirement as per Johor-WI-A03-Roles, Responsibilities, Accountability and Authority (HSSE) document, if applicable.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Education:
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent
