The role focuses strongly on supervising and developing a team of local Angolan technicians, building their skills and autonomy while delivering high-quality composite repair services.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
- Supervise offshore composite repair activities on oil & gas installations
- Ensure all work complies with company procedures, client specifications, and international standards
- Plan daily activities, allocate tasks, and monitor progress against project timelines
- Coordinate with offshore client representatives and platform management
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and train local Angolan technicians
- Transfer technical knowledge in composite repair techniques and offshore best practices
- Conduct on-the-job training and performance evaluations
- Promote a strong safety culture and teamwork mindset
Technical Execution
- Oversee surface preparation, application, and curing of composite repair systems
- Ensure proper use of tools, materials, and equipment
- Troubleshoot technical issues during offshore operations
- Maintain quality control and ensure documentation is accurate and complete
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with HSE policies and offshore safety regulations
- Supervise safe handling and management of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM)
- Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety briefings
- Enforce PPE use and safe work practices at all times
- Supervise or participate in rope access operations where required
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as an Offshore Supervisor or similar role in the oil & gas sector
- Strong hands-on experience with composite repair systems
- Demonstrated offshore experience (platforms, FPSOs, or rigs)
- Experience managing and developing multicultural teams, preferably in Africa
- Knowledge and practical experience handling NORM in oil extraction environments
- Good communication skills in English (Portuguese is a strong advantage)
- Previous experience working in Angola or similar environments
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ideally, Rope Access certification (e.g., IRATA Level 1/2/3)
