Role Synopsis
Trading Operators play a key role in executing bp's trading strategies, logistical optimization, and overall supply chain processes. As a Trading Operator, the primary focus is to function as the primary liaison between ST&S, other bp entities, and our counterparties to coordinate delivery of all purchases and sales of various commodities.
General responsibilities of the Trading Operator role will include the coordination of various supply chain activities, including, but not limited to, truck, rail, pipeline, terminal, barge, and vessel operations in the Americas. The successful candidate will be required to manage multiple activities simultaneously and must be able to multitask and stay organized.
A key component of this role will be developing and maintaining strong relationships with various functions within ST&S as well as our counterparties. This role will also work closely with our ST&S traders/originators to maximize commercial value daily and require initiative-taking communications to align appropriate stakeholders on end-to-end logistics.
Due to the operational nature of this position, the successful candidate will be on call 24 hours/7 days a week.

Key Accountabilities
- Manage product supply/demand balances, asset inventories, and logistical operations.
- Schedule product movements timely while minimizing losses, costs, and disruptions.
- Communicate positions and provisions effectively to critical internal partners.
- Interface with numerous stakeholders - both internally and externally.
- Ensure appropriate support of inventory reconciliation, settlement activities, and other administrative duties.
- Verify and manage operational costs.

- No less than a couple of years industry experience scheduling hydrocarbon movements.
