JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV Angola is seeking a highly experienced Offshore Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for supervising Solids Control and Water Management operations in an offshore environment, leading and supporting field operators, and ensuring company and client operational, safety, and performance objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

• Engineer with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience, focused on Solids Control operations and Water Management.
• Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent).

Operational Responsibilities

• Report to the check-in desk at the appropriate departure point when requested;
• Supervise the loading and proper securing of solids control equipment and parts;
• Report to the company office when requested during normal working hours;
• Notify the office at least one week in advance via email or phone before the scheduled return-to-work date;
• Ensure all required certificates are valid (Medical, HUET, Basic Offshore Survival, H2S);
• Complete the Monthly Engineering Report for each site visit, obtain client signature before leaving the site, and submit signed copies to the supervisor before returning home;
• Report material consumption through the Spare Parts Usage Report and Equipment Usage Report, submitting them at the end of each month or shift;
• Always maintain inventory responsibility;
• Compile and submit daily equipment performance reports to the office within the timeframe requested by the client;
• Follow established procedures, including identification of key equipment, maintenance tasks and frequencies, and responsible parties;
• Actively participate in training programs identified by NOV or the Client.

Skills and Experience

• Ability to operate NOV equipment according to manuals, including but not limited to centrifuges, cuttings dryers, shale shakers, VAC units, gumbo boxes, degassers, and cleaning equipment;
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot NOV equipment;
• Experience performing and reviewing platform surveys (design, installation, and commissioning);
• Ability to investigate mechanical equipment failures and Zero Discharge Water Treatment Systems;
• Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.);
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment issues;
• Experience in installation, commissioning, overhaul, fault finding, repair, and operational procedures;
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
• Experience in a similar offshore or automation-related role;
• Practical knowledge of electrical solids control systems (preferred);
• Practical knowledge of fluids and rotating mechanical engineering;
• Experience in AC/DC power system configuration;
• Experience in Quality Management Systems.

Personal Competencies

• Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook;
• Knowledge of NOV products and their applications;
• Competence in PLC/HMI programming;
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for engineering, providing technical support to clients and field engineers;
• Coordinate technical investigations, review research reports, and ensure timely submission to the client;
• Plan offshore personnel mobilization and equipment utilization;
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics;
• Ability to read and analyze reports to identify potential equipment performance issues;
• Clear English communication skills, with strong interpersonal and client interaction abilities;
• Knowledge of Asset Information Management Systems (AIMS).
