NOV Angola is seeking a highly experienced Solids Control Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing reports to ensure the correct and safe guidance of workers. Verify and control the quality of operations carried out. Check and ensure, whenever possible, that the necessary equipment and personnel are on site in a timely manner before the start of operations.
Qualifications
- Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics, etc.) or equivalent.
Operational Responsibilities
- Report to the appropriate departure point check-in desk when requested.
- Report to the company office whenever requested during normal working hours.
- Notify the company office at least one week in advance via email or phone before the scheduled return-to-work date.
- Ensure all required certifications are valid (Medical, HUET, Basic Offshore Survival, H2S).
- Complete the Monthly Engineering Report for each site visit, obtain the client's signature before leaving the site, and submit signed documents to the supervisor before returning home.
- Report material consumption on-site through the Spare Parts Usage Report and Equipment Usage Report. These must be submitted at the end of each month or shift to the supervisor. The employee is responsible for inventory at all times.
- Compile and submit daily equipment performance reports to the office within the timeframe requested by the client via email or fax.
- Actively participate in training programs as identified by NOV or the Client.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to operate NOV equipment according to manual procedures, including but not limited to Shale Shakers and Freeflow systems.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot all NOV equipment, including Shale Shakers and Freeflow systems.
- Ability to investigate mechanical equipment issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment problems.
- Working knowledge and experience in installation, temporary responsibility assignments, overhaul, fault finding, repair, and operational procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in fluids and rotating mechanical engineering.
- Experience in a similar offshore or automation-related role.
- Practical knowledge of electrical systems and solids control is preferred.
Personal Competencies
- Ability to use a computer and send emails (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to identify NOV products and understand their applications.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Ability to read and understand reports to identify potential equipment performance issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with all personnel on site and with clients (strong communication, interpersonal skills, and daily client interaction abilities).
