Physical Requirements
Years of Experience
- Provide all required geophysical interpretation to produce reliable, accurate time and depth structure maps as a basis for well planning, reservoir modeling and reserves estimation.
- Capable to independently integrate geological and reservoir engineering data with available geophysical description to deliver a coherent subsurface description of field of responsibilities.
- Responsible for generating a ranked prospect inventory for Cheleken asset by mapping out different leads and prospects using different seismic data sets.
- Provide risk assessments and recommendations of appraisal and exploration portfolio based on the geophysical analysis.
- Provide geophysical expertise and technical oversight to support the progression and execution of Cheleken appraisal and exploration inventory.
- Oversee seismic processing programs ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, timely and cost-effective product.
- Provide geophysical expertise required for the implementation of Field Development Plan.
- Supervise in-house and third-party geophysical studies to be carried out on behalf of the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Delivering safe operations by ensuring all subsurface uncertainties and risks are well communicated and considered by the drilling and engineering teams.
- Assess subsurface risks which might impact the drilling performance. Work closely with drilling team to optimize the drilling plan to minimize the exposure to different subsurface risks.
- Building and maintaining prospect inventory for Cheleken asset supported by all required geophysical interpretation utilizing all available seismic datasets.
- Update the subsurface description of fields of responsibilities with the results of the latest drilling activities.
- Provide the required geophysical inputs for field development plans (FDPs) as needed. Add new reserves by mapping out new subsurface locations.
- Ensure that an up-to-date geophysical interpretation is in place with a clear documentation of subsurface assumptions and uncertainties for all fields of responsibilities.
- Provide a clear assessment of subsurface chance of success for all leads and prospects included in Cheleken prospect inventory.
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Geophysics, Geology or Physics. Masters/Post graduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with major or independent operating companies.
- International experience. Strong experience in 3D seismic interpretation and seismic analysis of multi-layered clastic reservoirs in exploration, appraisal and development geophysics in complex structure basins. Experience in Caspian region is preferred.
