Deep geothermal energy expertise in a growing sector

Today, there is a global recognition of the importance of clean, renewable geothermal energy for 24/7 power generation and heating and cooling solutions as an integral part of the energy transformation - and the geothermal sector is growing. SLB has been working in the subsurface for more than 100 years. GeothermEx (acquired by SLB in 2010) has been working exclusively in the geothermal energy space for 50 years, with involvement of more than 75% of the world's geothermal projects. GeothermEx is known for its top-quality analyses related to the riskiest part of any geothermal project: finding, developing, and operating the subsurface resource in a way that optimizes the delivery of heat and/or power. This legacy position and deep knowledge of

geothermal technologies lead to actionable advice that reduces the risks associated with harnessing this abundant natural resource.

GeothermEx is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Geothermal Geoscientist to lead geothermal projects and provide solutions to our client becoming a trusted consultant. This role also requires to manage guide and train more junior geoscientists.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Compile, process, and interpret data and documentation related to geothermal projects, with a focus on resource exploration, development, and exploitation
• Prepare detailed evaluations of geothermal resources
• Participate in intermittent field assignments, such as:
  • Geothermal exploration work
  • Wellsite geology and data collection
  • Oversight of well logging and testing
  • Site visits for project evaluations and data collection
• Investigate and develop solutions to a variety of problems for geothermal resource exploration, development, and operation
• Prepare proposals and assist in marketing efforts
• Lead and assist in integrating the geoscience team's work with the work of other specialists from GeothermEx and other SLB business lines
• Participate in SLB New Energy project initiation and New Product Development efforts
• Participate in designing and implementing GeothermEx team procedures for business development, marketing and publicity, project execution, data storage, and conformance to SLB standards and policies.
• Responsibility for team oversight commensurate with a senior management role.

Qualifications And Experience:

• Master's degree or higher in geology, geochemistry, or similar field
• 10 years of direct experience in the geothermal industry preferred, ideally with consulting experience
• Technical writing, with the ability to organize and clearly express observations, ideas, opinions, and conclusions
• Experience managing personnel, working in a team environment and collaborating closely with colleagues
• Experience in drilling operations (as wellsite geologist, mudlogger, or similar), and/or experience in well-logging, testing, and field management
• Digital technology capabilities (experience with technical software, software development, database management, and instrumentation), including:
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint
  • Geologic modeling software preferred (e.g., Petrel, Leapfrog)
  • Software related to logging and graphics preferred (e.g., Techlog, Grapher)
  • Use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
• Candidates must be able to work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.
