Program Summary

KBR Readiness and Sustainment division is the Team Behind the Mission. As KBR JOC we deliver construction services to the US Military and collation partners at Djibouti Africa camp Lemonier Naval Base round the world. We furnish all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, facilities, transportation, incidental engineering, and other items necessary to perform renovations, repairs, maintenance, replacements, alterations, demolition, and provision of temporary facilities for NAVFAC construction category II, III, and IV tasks. KBR/JOC ensures delivery to the highest standard in every aspect of construction work in a timely manner allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.

Job Summary

The Carpenter reports directly to the JOC superintendent and will be responsible for providing carpentry and joinery services. Their work includes constructing furniture and fittings, performing repairs and Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures. Key tasks include interpreting blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, fitting fixtures (doors, stairs), and assembling structures while adhering to safety regulations

Roles and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites.
• Prepares materials and builds and erects a broad range of structures in support of plant construction and maintenance activities.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and cabinetry.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the construction process.
• Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
• Assessing and reviewing additional carpentry or joinery refurbishments
• Performing finish carpentry including siding, flooring and built-ins
• Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing the required personal safety equipment.
• Performs other duties and activities as directed.
• Job may require moderate to heavy lifting

Basic Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training
• 2+ years of experience in carpentry.
• Knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and safety protocols.
• Physical Capability: Stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials (often 50-100 lbs.), and work at heights or in various weather conditions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities.
• You should also be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces depending on the project.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Must Have Computer and Communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity and with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
• Must possess driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity

• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with multiple interruptions/distractions.
