About the Role
We are seeking a Commissioning Manager to support the successful delivery of a major infrastructure and equipment programme.
This role will serve as a key interface between project delivery teams and the end‑user organisation, ensuring that all commissioning activities are effectively coordinated, compliant with operational and regulatory requirements, and aligned with programme governance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing newly delivered infrastructure and equipment for operational use by ensuring commissioning activities are properly authorised, coordinated, and integrated with operational stakeholders.
During the design phases, the Commissioning Manager will ensure that all systems and equipment are engineered to meet operational needs, safety management arrangements, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with design teams, contractors, and wider stakeholders to embed commissioning requirements early in the design, supporting a seamless progression through construction, commissioning, and handover stages.
The role will involve a blend of on‑site presence at programme locations and remote working, aligning attendance with the needs of stakeholder engagement and programme integration. Occasional travel to additional sites or supplier facilities may be required to support programme activities such as acceptance trials and technical reviews.
Essential Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in a technical role, with proven capability as a Commissioning Manager or in a similar position. They will bring experience of working within a nuclear‑regulated environment and possess strong knowledge of the associated commissioning requirements, including risk management and quality assurance.
The role requires the ability to interpret and produce a wide range of technical documentation such as drawings, reports, plans and specifications. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, both in writing and in person, and comfortable working collaboratively within a team as well as independently when required.
An organised and structured approach is essential to ensure deadlines are set, tracked and achieved across all contributing parties
