Senior Project Accounting Accountant – NFP

Overview
An opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to provide expert financial guidance and support across complex projects. The role involves leading accounting, financial reporting, and management accounting activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, and providing actionable insights to support project and corporate decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities, resolving complex non-routine issues and providing expert guidance where required
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to obtain sensitive financial information and provide advice on agreements, financial models, and billing/cash management
• Coordinate with Asset Accounting and Venture Controlling to ensure accurate project closeouts and shareholder reporting
• Review and analyse internal and external gross cost/operating reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Support monthly gross cost review meetings and follow up on resulting actions
• Maintain and update project summary reports, including project cost, Internal Order (IO) vs Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and cost tracker reconciliations
• Analyse inventory movements and assist in resolving shareholder queries
• Prepare and review project accruals, accounting adjustment entries, and account reconciliations
• Manage cash forecasts, funding/cash calls, and billing statements, analysing variances and optimising cash balances
• Develop Work Plan and Budget (WP&B) inputs, verify headcount and expenditure phasing, and provide comparative analysis for management reporting

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Commerce, or a degree in any discipline with an internationally recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting and finance
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO, and experience with BPC, BW, and Projects System
• Solid understanding of financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis
• Commitment to organizational compliance with financial control procedures
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business software
