The role of the Occupational Hygiene Technician is to provide essential leadership, knowledge, advice and support by promoting continuous improvement and safe working practices in accordance with defined business, legislative and contractual requirements. This position is based on site full time Monday to Friday 40 hours a week
Experience and qualifications
Extensive experience of working as an Occupational Hygienist or occupational hygiene technician in industrial settings or Construction projects
experience in the management of fumes including the requirements of Welding habitats, LEV systems and RPE.
Track record of delivering Auditing / Inspection / Remedial action on non-conformance
certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH) of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS)
Working toward the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene.

The role of the Occupational Hygiene Technician is to provide essential leadership, knowledge, advice and support by promoting continuous improvement and safe working practices in accordance with defined business, legislative and contractual requirements. - Keep abreast of legislation, industry standards, and best practices in Occupational Hygiene to ensure compliance and continuous improvement;
- Provide guidance and support regarding the use of PPE, safe work practices, and ergonomic considerations to prevent musculoskeletal injuries;
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to raise awareness of Occupational Health hazards and promote a culture of increased Occupational Health awareness among site personnel;
- Support the HSE Lead as required to achieve the Occupational Hygiene Strategy;
- Participate in specific Occupational Hygiene related investigations and studies, as required by the HSE Lead and project management.
- Contribute to HSE commitments in highlighting and promoting best practice ensuring Occupational Hygiene policies and procedures are implemented and utilised across all aspects of the HPC project work scopes.
- Monitor and review Occupational Hygiene performance through programmed inspections and audits, including assessments of suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements ensuring company policies and procedures are implemented appropriately, recording any findings, highlighting any areas for improvements.
- Agree remedial action with site management on Occupational Hygiene non-conformance and follow up on issues to ensure the appropriate implementation has taken place.
- Prepare and deliver reports on project Occupational Hygiene performance targets / KPI's in line with business, client and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Deliver proactive advice and guidance on site to ensure Occupational Hygiene processes are followed and key behaviours are embedded across the project work packages.
- Identify any relevant Occupational Hygiene related training requirements to ensure compliance on site, prepare, and deliver training as required.
- Manage the application of effective Occupational Hygiene-related incident preparedness, response, reporting, investigation and follow-up to ensure root causes are established and appropriate actions are identified and closed out.
- Any other reasonable tasks assigned by the line manager
Experience and qualifications
