- The role will involve assisting with the development and maintenance of project plans, capturing and analyzing planning data, preparing progress and manpower reports, and supporting forecasting activities in line with contractual and internal requirements.
- The Junior Planning Engineer will work closely with project and discipline teams to ensure accurate tracking of project performance throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Ensure personal safety and work in accordance with Wood's HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Comply with Wood's Quality Assurance systems and processes
- Study and develop a clear understanding of the project objectives, organizational structure, and contract requirements
- Assist in the development and maintenance of planning control structures for specific scopes of work (SOW) issued via Call‑Off Orders from BP Caspian
- Support the establishment and maintenance of project plans and schedules within the project planning systems
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in ensuring that planning data is captured accurately in accordance with contractual requirements and internal processes
- Support the monitoring and control of planning activities throughout all phases of the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with project and discipline teams to maintain awareness of project activities, status, schedule impacts, and manpower requirements
- Assist with periodic progress updates and revise project plans accordingly
- Prepare project progress and performance reports in line with project reporting requirements
- Assist in the preparation of project manpower forecasts
- Support the development of Excel‑ and Power BI‑based reports and dashboards
- Assist in developing project schedule forecasts
- Support the project planning close‑out process
- Attend project meetings as required
- Provide general support to members of the planning team
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or a related discipline)
- 2-4 years of experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar project controls role
- Good understanding of project planning, scheduling, and progress measurement methodologies
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong data analysis and data management skills
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, reporting)
- Experience with planning tools such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- Ability to prepare and maintain project schedules, progress updates, and planning reports
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with project teams
- Proactive, well‑organized, and eager to develop further within project controls
