Job Title: Sr. Mechanical / Piping Construction Supervisor

Duration: 6 Months (Extendable)
Reporting To: Senior Project Engineer

Job Purpose

The role involves supervising mechanical and piping construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements, while meeting project schedules and productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and promote a strong safety culture at site.
• Review Permit to Work (PTW) packages, including drawings, method statements, and control measures for accuracy and completeness.
• Supervise day-to-day construction activities to ensure adherence to contract requirements.
• Ensure availability of adequate manpower, materials, and equipment for smooth execution of works.
• Monitor piping and structural prefabrication activities and ensure timely delivery of materials (spools, structures) to site.
• Track construction progress, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
• Anticipate potential project risks related to quality, cost, and schedule, and recommend corrective actions.
• Improve contractor productivity, schedule performance, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure inspections are conducted as per approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Raise and close mechanical/piping punch points within agreed timelines.
• Report major construction issues, quality concerns, or delays to the Project Manager or Lead Engineer.
• Attend coordination meetings and ensure timely resolution of construction-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in onshore mechanical and piping construction.
• At least 5+ years of experience in power plants, hydrocarbon plants, or pipeline projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong ability to read and interpret General Arrangement (GA), piping layouts, and isometric drawings.
• In-depth knowledge of piping fabrication, welding processes, and installation techniques.
• Experience in structural fabrication and erection works.
• Familiarity with lifting operations and site execution practices.
• Knowledge of painting and coating systems, GRE lamination, and HDPE piping works.
• Working knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASME Sec V, ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and AWS D1.1.
