Rapid growing affiliate in Suriname with 4 operated Joint Ventures - 5 partners. 1 joint venture sanctioned the development of an offshore project with first oil is scheduled in 2028.

Activities

General accounting:

• Oversee correct booking in SAP & all documentations: payroll, accruals, loan interests, deferred tax...
• Cooperate with controlling team to record the essential accruals.
• Ensure timely the monthly balance sheet reconciliations including inter-affiliate accounts payable/receivable
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and annual close duties, including accruals and reviewing financial information to ensure the financials are accurately and timely reported.
• Plan and coordinate the annual audit for the company and liaise with external advisors on the preparation and disclosures of the financial statements
• Submit to external auditors the required analysis: Fixed assets & depreciation analysis, balance confirmation
• Prepare the monthly/quarterly PSC reports to Staatsolie Hydrocarbon Institute
• Guarantees the reliability of the financial and accounting information and to prepare quarterly Consolidation Reporting package in line with Company rules (standards, deadlines) comprising income statement, balance sheet and additional annexes and submit to Company/Corporate Finance

Joint Ventures accounting:

• Prepares and distribute monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and cash calls to Partners in accordance to the JOA.
• Provide responses on Partners enquiries in relation to JIB and Cash calls.
• Prepare and submit cost recovery reports in line with the requirements of the PSC.
• Prepare materials for the Accounting subcommittee, and when applicable report the result of Partner interactions to the OCM.

Control and report:

• Develop and Maintain appropriate processes and controls for accounting
• Verifying adherence to company internal rules and procedures: CREPACC, SOX, ...
• Complete Priority Accounting Controls schedules on a monthly basis

Assist Chief Accountant on other tasks as necessary.

Candidate Profile

• University degree in Accounting, Administration, Economy or correlated;
• About 5 to 7+ years Finance experience in the Oil & Gas industry (Joint Venture Accounting area is a plus);
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge and the ability to present financial information in a structured, informative and original manner to meet the requirements of various users and stakeholders
• Self-starter with eye for detail, don't mind rolling up your sleeves
• Team player, great communicator with professional approach, a problem solver with an enquiring mind
• Excellent written, oral, analytical and presentation skills
• Proficiency with SAP (FI, CO, MM module)
• Language: English is mandatory, and French is a plus.
