Assistant Cost Engineer

The Assistant Cost Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager on all matters relating to the administration and coordination of the contract. The Assistant Cost Engineer will work within the commercial department within the Great Yarmouth office where the Senior Cost Engineer will oversee the position on a day-to-day basis.
Main Responsibilities
• Encoding of all hours for EDF/NNB contract to MPower System in a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinate with Supervision and Project Engineers with regards to time writing
• Handles queries regarding missing and incorrect hours
• Ensures site timesheets are accurately produced and allocated to the correct job numbers
• Work closely with the control team to ensure all hours are invoiced accurately and within the required timescale
• Produce a weekly report for the operations team on hours spent on each scope
• Support any further reporting required by operations
• Process site expense claims
• Involvement in client time writing audits
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the position holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager and Cost Engineer from time to time
Experience and Qualifications
Proven track record in a similar role
Experience in a fast-paced environment
Problem solver
High level of attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline
Relationship builder with good commercial awareness
Previous knowledge of SAP and time writing systems (desirable)
High level of discretion and confidentiality
Possess excellent communication skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
