Background:

Global Business Services (GBS) and Planning & Performance Management (PPM) seek to work together to deliver more efficient, cost-effective digital product support across PPM's product suite. At the center of this initiative is establishing a shared resources team in GBS called the GBS PPM Sustain Team. The establishment of this Team is in support of broader strategic themes of centralization, continuous improvement, and value optimization.

Team Scope:

The GBS PPM Sustain Team will work in 2 key areas:

Technical and Process Support for PPM Products - The Team will work with PPM Product and Sustain Teams, providing technical and process support - directly or through guidance, as the situation requires - in response to inquiries, questions, or concerns from regional and central stakeholders. Continuous Improvement - Team will work across multiple PPM products, putting it in a unique position to identify important lessons learned that can be applied both for individual products as well as across the product suite.

The Role - Global Business Services - CMT Sustain Analyst:

The GBS CMT Sustain Analyst will work as part of the wider GBS PPM Sustain Team to provide technical and process support to PPM Product Teams. This role requires attention to detail, proactivity, willingness to learn, identify the cause of questions or concerns from users, solve the problem, or escalate appropriately and articulate the solution. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to work with various business and technical stakeholders and apply robust instructional materials to answer questions, provide guidance and training, and request any required technical fixes from the Technology sustain team regarding the relevant PPM products.

Finance Systems & Process Support

  • Perform system administration activities for finance planning and performance management processes, including QPF, GFO, month-end, and quarter-end close.
  • Provide business and technical support as a subject matter expert for system processes, data flows, and integrations.
  • Support users with defect resolution, process clarifications, data corrections, and training, ensuring adherence to defined PPM Sustain and Product Support models.
  • Investigate system errors, perform issue troubleshooting, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks across planning and reporting cycles.

Issue Management & Escalation

  • Work closely with the CMT Team to prioritize defects, enhancements, and support activities.
  • Serve as an intermediate escalation point between analysts and the Product Sustain Manager when required.
  • Ensure all incidents, service requests, and enhancements are handled within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Understand ownership boundaries between GBS, Technology, and PPM Product teams and raise appropriately to resolve conflicts.

Reporting, Analytics & Insights

  • Support and enhance financial reporting and analytics, using SAP BPC, Advanced Excel, and Power BI.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and visual storytelling.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.

Stakeholder & User Engagement

  • Partner with the PPM user community to understand business concerns, questions, and upcoming requirements.
  • Coordinate with finance, technology, and product teams to resolve system and process issues efficiently.
  • Resolve product-specific support queries raised by the PPM Product team and internal GBS partners.
  • Assist in addressing internal GBS PPM Sustain team questions related to finance processes or system behavior.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and propose process, system, and reporting improvements based on operational experience and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to business transformation and digital finance initiatives, particularly those involving data, process re-engineering, and automation.
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and improvement-driven team culture.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

Functional & Technical Skills

  • Experience using and/or supporting planning and performance management solutions, preferably SAP BPC, across Excel and web interfaces.
  • Strong financial analysis and data flow analysis skills to identify root causes of system and reporting issues.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • SAP BPC
  • Power BI (dashboards, data modeling, DAX)
  • Advanced Excel (complex formulas, pivots, modeling)
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Experience in system error investigation, issue solve, and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of data validation, reconciliation, and financial controls.
