Construction Site Manager - Solar (Contract)Location: South AfricaContract: 12 MonthsStart Date: ASAPAbout the RoleSpencer Ogden is supporting a key client in the renewable energy sector to recruit an experienced Construction Site Manager for a utility-scale solar project in South Africa.This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take ownership of site delivery, ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a critical role in driving project success while acting as the key interface between the client, contractors, and site teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all on-site construction activities across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopesManage and coordinate construction managers, subcontractors, and site teamsEnsure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budgetProvide technical support and guidance to clients and on-site teamsInterpret construction drawings and schematics (civil, structural, electrical)Drive compliance with safety regulations and company standards, including leading safety meetings and reportingSupport project planning activities including sequencing, manpower planning, and material managementMonitor progress and provide daily/weekly reporting on performance, risks, and site activityMaintain strong stakeholder communication across project managers, engineers, and clientsEnsure quality control across all phases of constructionTrain and support site teams and subcontractorsWhat We're Looking For5+ years' experience in construction site managementProven experience delivering turnkey projectsStrong background in utility-scale solar projects (essential)Experience across:Civil works (foundations, piling)Mechanical installation (mounting structures)Electrical installation (highly desirable)Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systemsExperience operating heavy plant and site equipmentStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsTrack record of delivering projects on schedule and within budgetStrong commitment to health & safetyWillingness to travel extensively (up to 100%)Afrikaans language skills preferredWhat's on OfferTravel and accommodation fully expensedOpportunity to work on a major international renewable energy projectLong-term contract with potential for extensionApply NowIf you're available to start immediately and have strong solar construction experience, we want to hear from you.
