シニア・ジェネラルアカウンタントは、ABBジャパンのファイナンス＆アカウンティングオペレーションにおいて重要な役割を担い、Record-to-Report(R2R)機能を支援します。本ポジションでは、正確な財務記録の維持と、US-GAAP(グループ会計基準)およびJ-GAAP(日本の法定会計基準)の双方に対する完全なコンプライアンスの確保を担います。

また、Statutory Compliance Services(SCS)チーム(Statutory Compliance Center of Excellence)と密接に連携し、日本における法定財務諸表の作成、監査対応、および各種開示・提出に関わるマイルストーンの調整を行います。

さらに、本ポジションは専門領域のエキスパートとして、信頼されるビジネスパートナーの立場から、カントリーファイナンスマネージャー、日本のローカルファイナンスチーム、中国ファイナンス＆アカウンティングオペレーションズハブ、コントローリング、税務、トレジャリー部門と密接に連携します。業務改善の推進や、必要に応じたABBのファイナンス関連プロジェクトや各種イニシアチブにも積極的に貢献していただきます。

一般会計および月次決算業務

• ABBの会計方針およびグループ勘定科目体系に基づき、手動および自動仕訳の作成・レビューを実施する
• 日本法人における月次・四半期・年次決算プロセスを調整・推進し、グループ要件に沿った正確かつタイムリーな完了を確保する
• ABBのR2Rツール(例:Trintech Cadency)を用いて勘定残高の照合およびレビューを実施し、総勘定元帳および補助元帳の整合性を維持する
• US GAAP、日本基準(J-GAAP)、税務用帳簿にわたる勘定科目の定期的なレビューおよび調整を実施し、レポーティング間の差異調整や、法定決算書および監査対応に必要な修正仕訳を行う

財務報告および税務サポート

• US GAAPおよび日本基準(J-GAAP)に準拠したローカルおよびグループ財務諸表の作成をサポートし、両基準間の調整パッケージの対応を行う
• ABBの内部統制フレームワークの導入・維持を担い、ICoFR(財務リスクに関する内部統制)の要件に基づいた統制手続の文書化および運用を実施する
• リース会計(ABBのTririgaツール)を管理し、適用される会計基準への準拠を確保する
• 外部監査人および外部ベンダーに対するローカル窓口として機能し、日々の対応を取りまとめ、SCSチームと連携しながら一貫性のある対応を行う
• SCSチームと連携し、税務・コントローラー・監査人と協働して、法定監査の計画およびマイルストーン(PBC、実地監査、調整、監査意見、提出)を調整・進捗管理し、リスクや遅延を適時エスカレーションする
• 必要に応じて税務機能(Tax)のサポートとして、ローカル税務対応(随時・限定的)を支援する
• ビジネスニーズに応じた財務・会計関連のアドホック業務を支援し、特定の日本ローカル業務においてはグローバルの税務・トレジャリー機能の指示のもと対応を担う場合がある

CFINシステムとR2Rガバナンス

• 財務諸表、勘定照合、各種レポーティングにおける記録基盤としてのCFINの運用を支援し、SAPからCFINへのデータフローおよび台帳構造を理解する
• SAP FIおよびCFIN環境におけるデータ品質と整合性を確保し、仕訳および勘定マッピングの妥当性を検証する
• CFINを活用した集中型勘定照合を支援し、中国ファイナンス・アカウンティングオペレーションズハブと連携して連結レポーティング要件に対応する

グループ内取引(インターカンパニー)および財務運営

• ABBのプラットフォーム(iTradeおよびグループ内取引ツール)を用いてインターカンパニー取引の処理および照合を行い、グループ内取引ポリシーに基づき差異を解消する
• 銀行勘定照合やキャッシュフローレポーティングなど、トレジャリー業務を支援する
• 中国ファイナンス・アカウンティングオペレーションズハブと連携し、インターカンパニー精算およびグループレポーティングを推進する
• トレジャリー機能における特定のローカル業務(随時・限定的)に関する窓口として対応する

ビジネスパートナーシップと継続的改善

• 財務および関連部門のメンバーに対し、信頼されるビジネスパートナーとして会計インサイトを提供し、意思決定を支援する
• P2PおよびO2Cのローカル財務チームと連携し、会計プロセスの整合性を確保するとともに、課題解決を協働で推進する
• カントリーファイナンスマネージャーと密接に連携し、関連する財務領域全般の業務を推進する
• ABBのファイナンス関連プロジェクトおよび各種施策に参画し、専門性を発揮して円滑な遂行をリードする

応募資格および求める要件

学歴及び資格

• 会計、財務、経済、または関連分野における学士号以上
• 公認会計士(日本CPA)、USCPA、CIMAなどの専門資格を保有している方は尚可

経験

• 会計分野における5～7年程度の実務経験(多国籍企業、またはグローバルな製造・テクノロジー企業での経験があれば尚可)
• 月次決算、勘定照合、法定財務報告(監査対応含む)に関する実務経験
• US GAAPおよび日本基準(J-GAAP)双方に基づくレポーティング経験(基準間の調整パッケージ作成を含む)
• 業務プロセスの改善やシステム強化を推進した実績

テクニカルスキル

• SAP FIモジュールの実務経験(SAP HANA、マネジメントレポーティングサイクル、データ可視化・抽出を行うグループレポーティングツールの知識があれば尚可)
• CFIN(Central Finance)を記録基盤として扱う知識(SAPからCFINへのデータフロー、台帳構造、連結レポーティングプロセスの理解)
• J-GAAPとUS GAAP間の調整に関する知識または実務経験

Role Overview

The Senior General Accountant is a key contributor to ABB Japan's Finance & Accounting Operations, supporting the Record-to-Report (R2R) function. This role ensures accurate financial records and full compliance with both US-GAAP (Group standards) and J-GAAP (local statutory requirements). The role works in close collaboration with the Statutory Compliance Services (SCS) team (Statutory Compliance COE) to coordinate statutory financial statement preparation, audit execution, and filing milestones for Japan. Acting as a subject matter expert and trusted business partner, you will work in close collaboration with the Country Finance Manager, local finance team, China Finance & Accounting Operations Hub, Controlling, Tax, and Treasury functions, proactively driving process improvements and contributing to ABB Finance projects and initiatives as required.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

This role is contributing to the Country Japan local accounting team. Main stakeholders are China Finance & Accounting Operations Hub, Treasury, Tax, Local division Business Controllers, and the local Japan Accounting team, as well as the Finance Manager and the Country Holding Officer.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Month-End Close

• Execute and review manual and automated journal entries in adherence to ABB accounting policies and the Group Chart of Accounts.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for Japanese entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion aligned with group requirements.
• Perform and review account reconciliations using ABB R2R tools (eg. Trintech Cadency), maintaining integrity of the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
• Regularly review and adjust chart of accounts across US-GAAP, J-GAAP, and tax-specific ledgers, including required adjustments between reporting packages and statutory adjustments required for annual financial statements and audit.

Financial Reporting & tax support

• Support preparation of local and group financial statements in compliance with US-GAAP and J-GAAP, including adjustment packages between the two frameworks.
• Implement and maintain ABB Internal Control Framework; document and sustain control procedures aligned with ICoFR expectations (ICoFR Internal Controls on Financial Risks).
• Manage lease accounting entries (ABB Tririga tool) ensuring compliance with applicable lease accounting standards.
• Act as the local statutory point of contact for external auditors and third-party providers, coordinating day-to-day requests and aligning responses with the SCS team.
• Partner with SCS team to coordinate statutory audit planning and milestone tracking (PBC, fieldwork, adjustments, opinion, and filing) with Tax, Controllers, and auditors; escalate risks and delays proactively.
• Support Tax function in local tax administration when and where required (ad hoc, small volume).
• Support ad hoc requests related to Finance and Accounting as per business requirements, may act on behalf of and supervised by Tax and Treasury global functions for specific local Japan tasks.

CFIN System & R2R Governance

• Support CFIN as system-of-record for financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting; understand SAP-to-CFIN data flows and ledger structures.
• Ensure data quality and integrity across SAP FI and CFIN environments; validate journal entries and account mappings.
• Support centralized reconciliations via CFIN; coordinate with China Finance & Accounting Operations Hub on consolidated reporting requirements.

Intercompany & Treasury Operations

• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions via ABB platforms (iTrade and/or group intercompany tools), resolving discrepancies in line with ABB Intra-Group Transactions Policy.
• Support treasury operations including bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting.
• Collaborate with the China Finance & Accounting Operations Hub on intercompany settlements and group reporting.
• Point of contact of Treasury functions for specific local tasks (ad hoc, small volume).

ing & Continuous Improvement

• Act as a trusted business partner to colleagues across Finance and other functions, providing accounting insights and supporting financial decision-making.
• Support P2P and O2C local finance team members, ensuring alignment on accounting processes and resolving issues collaboratively.
• Work in close collaboration with the Country Finance Manager on all relevant finance matters.
• Participate in ABB Finance projects and initiatives as required, contributing expertise and driving successful delivery.
• Proactively identify inefficiencies and propose concrete solutions to enhance accounting processes, system usage, and reporting quality.
• Champion digitalization and automation opportunities, leveraging ABB finance tools and best practices across the team.

Qualifications & Professional Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• CPA (Nihon Konin Kaikeishi), USCPA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.

Experience

• 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multinational or global manufacturing and technology company.
• Hands-on experience with month-end closing, account reconciliation, and statutory financial reporting including audit coordination.
• Proven experience in dual US-GAAP and J-GAAP reporting, including preparation of adjustment packages between frameworks.
• Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements or system enhancements.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SAP FI module; knowledge of SAP HANA, management reporting cycles, and usual group reporting tools for data visualization and extraction.
• Working knowledge of CFIN as system-of-record, including SAP-to-CFIN data flows, ledger structures, and consolidated reporting processes.
• Knowledge of or exposure to adjustments between J-GAAP and US-GAAP reporting packages.
• Familiarity with global tools such as Trintech Cadency (R2R), IBM Tririga, and iTrade is an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling) and automation tools (such as PowerAutomate).
• Good understanding of the ABB Internal Control Framework, ICoFR expectations, and audit procedures.

Language Proficiency

• Japanese: JLPT N1 level is required
• English: Business-level, for effective communication with the China Finance & Accounting Operations Hub and Group Finance stakeholders.
