Job Description Summary

The Lead Operational Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy in accounting records, adherence to GE Aerospace policies and compliance with local statutory reporting requirements. This role partners closely with HQ Finance, remote Finance team & business functions to maintain a robust control environment, drive business cash flow metrics and lead key controllership initiatives.

Role Overview:
  • Shared Service Focal: Lead collaboration with Business and remote Finance teams to drive high service performance for Invoice to Cash, Buy to Pay and Payroll functions ensuring controllership, cashflow and operational needs are met in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Statutory & Compliance: Focal person for Annual Statutory Audit, Tax & GST filings, coordinating with global accounting resources to ensure all statutory timelines are met on time and compliantly.
  • Accounting policy and application: Support general accounting and the application of accounting policies for areas such as revenue recognition, leases, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc., ensuring compliance with GE Aerospace GAP, Operating Policies & Procedures, Enterprise Standards, US GAAP and FRS.
  • Month-end closing: Support closing activities, proactively identifying, escalating and resolving issues with the relevant support functions in a timely manner.
  • Cashflow Forecast: Lead cash flow forecasting and reporting process for key balance sheet accounts, delivering on cash flow metrics and providing insights to support decision making.
  • Treasury: Manage Bank and Treasury matters with the Centralized Treasury team, including cashflow forecasting needs for the business.
  • SAP Project Implementation: Actively engage with the business Finance team, offsite extended Finance support, cross-functional stakeholders and IT/Digital/SAP team to support change management and adoption of SAP processes.
  • Government Grant: Support and ensure accurate accounting and compliance to government grant accounting
  • Controllership initiatives: Support to drive controllership synergy and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean/FLIGHT DECK principles to enhance accuracy, reduce workload and lead time.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a collaborative finance professional who ensures accurate accounting and rigorous compliance with GE Aerospace and local statutory requirements, partners closely with HQ, remote Finance and cross-functional teams to sustain a strong control environment and leads high-impact controllership and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 to 8 years of working experience previously gained from big 4 or second tier accounting firm, coupled with hands-on operational controllership experience in industrial/manufacturing business
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting qualification with CPA or CA preferred.
  • Experience with SAP project implementation will be an advantage


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong controllership and compliance mindset with high level of integrity
  • Proficient in SAP Finance modules
  • Knowledge and application of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Ability to partner effectively across diverse and cross-functional team to deliver business expectations
  • Structured, clear thinker with strong planning and execution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience managing relationships in a complex matrix environment with both local and virtual teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
